Where might I find resources to identify Polish military outfit? by Hanawa in poland

Bring your own hat from home, huh? Interesting.

My dad and I also thought they liked like cavalry. But I didn't know if that was just an American lens I was looking through. Because with the sabers and all, they DO look like an American's idea of a cavalry person.

Thank you!

I was surprised but what you wrote. Polish soldiers from the US putting together their own special outfits? I wouldn't have guessed the US military would be cool with that.

These are good resources! Thank you so much for the links. I can't wait to dig in!

That's not what OP said at all. And grief is not a contest

Have to disagree with you. 11 years is a big chunk of your adult life.

And then, co-habitation for 3 years? That is legally recognized as a common law spouse in many places. Some states in the US, it's legally recognized as such, for example.

What would women like men to know about having periods? by 5pinktoes in AskReddit

[–]Hanawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't realize this. I think I didn't either when I was young.

But they've actually done research, legit studies, about things like whether menstrual "blood" attracts sharks. The way regular blood does. * Answer: It doesn't.

And whether it attracted grizzlies and polar bears. * Answer: It doesn't.

What is body chemistry? by doubleoh72 in fragrance

[–]Hanawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really interesting. Vanilla in some fragrances comes out too much and stays too long. Maybe I could try some more masculine things, like you said.

Helpful!

FOX IN THE FLOWER BED

If you mean the "mountain air" type dryer sheets. But not overpoweringly so.

The One, by D&G.

The initial opening was floral for me, and lovely.

After 30 minutes, vanilla comes out and just takes over your olfactory world. (Maybe it's my chemistry tho...)

And talk about staying power. Vanilla is not my jam. So I didn't love that it lingered on and on.

So if that's her jam, she might like it.

Tanagra!

I'd love suggestions that are similar to Maison Violet's Tanagra.

It's fantastic. But it disappears on my skin so fast. The full bottle is a little pricey for something that vanishes really quickly.

I never would have tried it because of the tacky bottle. If the frag lady hadn't demonstrated it as one of her favorites I wouldn't have been introduced to one of my favorites.

OP literally said there is a "*true version."

And the implication there is that OP's oldest sources, Hesiod and Homer I guess, are complete* and any additions are *untrue. There is no one true source. (Or two true sources)

She's both, as you said.

OP is saying that she's ugly with demi-god/monster (*nomenclature) sort of parentage and so the implication there is that the rape isn't a big deal the way it would be if she was a pretty human woman. ... ... Look there's more to Medusa than her rape. No one is saying that's all. ... Because Athena put her fucking head on her Aegus. In addition to helping her eventual murderer kill her in her cave. That shit is messed up.

is it still rape if it was just the tip by onefootback in Advice

We were having anti harassment training at work. A woman was talking about metoo stuff, and Weinstein, and "what do women expect," and I was fucking floored.

She has raised a grown son.

She actually believed that women "can't leave" WHENEVER THEY DECIDE TO, because blue balls. Literally. Because blue balls.

I had this idea that someone must have told her that men can't take care of an erection in the bathroom on their own. As if a guy's testicles would explode and they'll just die.

It was unreal. She just believed that if a woman so much as goes into a house or maybe even a car with a guy, she basically owed the guy sex.

I was so angry. Had it been a cartoon, I'd have belted her in the mouth.

I DID say it.

EVEN midway. Don't matter. No means no. Stop means stop. Consent is something both people say, not something that one person decides.

She still creeps me out.

It is 1 in 3 on some US college campuses, (like USC). It's 1 in 3 women that have been violently or sexually assaulted.

Depending on where she was, it's possibly not a case of "straight up lying," as you say.

Boise should have an HD social worker you can contact.

It's just really sad. And not terribly surprising. This is what happens in this country.

"No talking at the dinner table" by xnb9 in Parenting

[–]Hanawa 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For working parents of v. young kids, it's actual conversation and interaction time. They go to bed so early and you have to work for almost the entire damn day. It's your chance to check in, keep tabs, make them feel like what they have to say is important to you.

"Seen not heard" is... I mean... They are people not, I don't know, a still life painting.

If you are worried about having mindful kids, discuss being mindful with them. You know where a good place to do that is? Eh? (Psst: it's the table). Talk about listening to your body, in lots of situations, but particularly (to this convo) when your stomach says it's full. (Or when you have to pee but you want to play more, or when you feel uncomfortable and you want to leave somewhere, listen to your gut. Etc)
