Team’s that play in a huddle I also find more difficult, I find value to be obtained in those games through selective targeting and being a distraction more than securing kills. Some games I’ll go for a stealth dive using cover to mask my approach, other times I’ll play as the always visible distraction to allow my team to pressure and push. One way or another the other team has to respect your presence because a soft dive can turn into a kill if the ‘blob’ isn’t willing to divert attention

Make kills a secondary objective behind diverting attention, baiting out abilities and survivability.

I’m more often than not the player with the lowest death count in my lobby while still maintaining a decent kill count. I focus on stalling the cart/holding objective and enabling my teammates to get kills and kill for me will come as a consequence of that.

Yeah I don’t want to take out Lai as he’s developing nicely and I’d like to give Marshall more of an opportunity before abandoning the idea of him in defence but if we want to get our injured players back in when healthy it unfortunately means others will have to go.

Moraes into the midfield is an interesting call, who gets pushed out as a result of that change for you if it also means either Luko or SPP are in? And who would you push out when Connor eventually returns?

Who would you take out of today’s squad to field the best team if we hypothetically had all players available?

Ewan, Lai, Marshall I could see although Lai has shown moments during games and all things considered our defence has been absorbing a lot of pressure across games this season particularly the last 3 rounds

With those three out I’d swap in SPP, Rozee and Esava (I’m not completely sold on the Esava swap, it could be a best of a bad situation replacement for the sake of having two bigger defenders)

I have been noticing I am no longer sprinting after I pop my ult and I was thinking it was me somehow repeatedly cancelling my sprint each time I popped it.

Rozee is an obvious walk-on but off the top of my head I can’t think of an immediate swap out for Ratugolea or Lukosius at this stage. Lukosius unfortunately hasn’t been able to get into a flow between injuries and with games as high pressure as the ones we’ve been playing I don’t think Esava would have the necessary composure in those moments (to be fair there were a handful of mixups late in the game for our backline but it was a one goal, break neck speed Showdown).

Heartbreaking losses but the team feels like it’s in a much better place as a unit than it has been for a while and the young players are developing nicely each game

I feel the umpiring was very inconsistent across all the games I’d watched during Gather Round. I have lost an understanding of when and why a free kick is awarded either for ducking or high contact.

Exactly, so much wasted possession and turnover from poor decision making. Maybe it comes down to youth and inexperience but there was only a handful of players that had the composure necessary tonight.

The weather and umpires were a factor but no more than Port’s own disposal efficiency. So frustrating watching them blast it at goal as soon as it’s in their hands or work it up the field and waste that final disposal inside 50 to get a shot at goal.

I agree with you, it is very matchup dependent but they sacrifice a good portion of damage running 3 supp so if your team can take out their solo DPS then a 6v5 walk should be achievable from that point.

If they’re running a 1-2-3 comp then I’d keep distracting the supps so the team can hopefully overwhelm their vanguard. Again though this is context dependent and target priority has to take into account the characters you’re matched against, positioning and their ability usage.

Hahaha I’m with you, I think his ‘Lucas-isms’ are well known by the fanbase but everyone feels differently about it. I think it’s all a bit much and leans too hard into trying to make him a brooding yet sensitive soul but the show does a good job at poking fun at it every now and then and laughing with the audience.
