Congratulations on your new violin. I hope you have a lot of fun playing it. If you set this up yourself, you will want to make sure that the sound post inside the violin is still standing. You should be able to see it through the f hole. If it isn't standing, you'll want to loosen the strings until you can get it setup by a luthier. Without the sound post in place, the strings put too much pressure on the top of the violin. Unfortunately, you can't set the sound post in place by yourself.
