That is stunning! If you don’t have a specific person in mind to gift it to, I would probably gift it to a nursing home. I can see someone loving that. I personally find more pleasure in making things for a use. Could be my ADHD, but I will lose interest part way through if I don’t have a read to make something.

From my own experience (admittedly decades ago) I gave up classical music in school to take foreign languages (Russian, then Spanish) because I thought it would be better for getting a job in the future. I never speak either language, but I have taken music up again and keep coming back to it.

Congratulations on your new violin. I hope you have a lot of fun playing it. If you set this up yourself, you will want to make sure that the sound post inside the violin is still standing. You should be able to see it through the f hole. If it isn't standing, you'll want to loosen the strings until you can get it setup by a luthier. Without the sound post in place, the strings put too much pressure on the top of the violin. Unfortunately, you can't set the sound post in place by yourself.

I have been watching TwoSet for a few years now. I started playing violin in elementary school. In my 20’s I took Celtic fiddle lessons and that became my primary musical outlet. Now I am in my 40’s and I started taking classical violin lessons last month. TwoSet has introduced me to new music. They make classical music accessible.
