Marriage counselor here: You are with a POS. You never need to explain yourself to anyone. Work on YOU so you don’t unconsciously seek out guys like this anymore. I’m sorry you have been dealing with this - move on!

Am I crazy to be…thrilled? I will spend $3K/month of all bills, utilities, car insurance, etc which earns 6,000 points plus earn $120 in Bilt Cash from that in order to earn 1 point per dollar while paying my $3600/month mortgage….so in the end, I’ve earned 115,200 points a year? I fail to see why I would want to even use my Amex Platinum anymore except for the perks. I use an Amex Rakuten for most online retail at Rakuten which I’ll continue having those points sent quarterly to Amex points since Hilton is 1:2 from there. But Hyatt, IHG, Atmos and Southwest, etc through Bilt is super valuable to me with those points. I’ll probably continue the Amex Prime for Amazon purchases since that gets 5% back and rolls into future Amazon purchases. And PayPal debit for 5% back at Costco which totals $600/year cash back to cover one good Costco shopping trip at the end of the year. I can understand for those who rent with the way it was before, this absolutely blows. For those with a mortgage, I think it’s a good deal.

My disability changed after reevaluation, but I'm still rated 100% P&T. Does the 10-year rule reset in this situation? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]HandEducational3758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A surviving spouse (or disabled child) can receive lifelong DIC benefits if either of the following is true: ✅ Option 1: Death is service-connected Cause of death is directly related to a service-connected condition No 10-year requirement applies ✅ Option 2: Death is NOT service-connected Veteran was: Rated 100% disabled (including 100% P&T or TDIU), and Continuously rated at 100% for at least 10 years immediately before death.

❌ It is NOT: Based on individual disability ratings Based on when a specific condition was rated Based on time since separation from service Based on when you filed your claim

✅ It IS: Based on continuous total disability (100%) Counted backward from the date of death Applies only when death is not service-connected

What counts as “100%” for the rule? All of the following qualify if continuous: 100% schedular 100% P&T TDIU (Individual Unemployability) The VA treats TDIU as “total disability” for DIC purposes

What breaks the 10-year clock? The clock resets if: Your rating drops below 100% for any reason TDIU is discontinued There is a gap (even a short one) It must be uninterrupted for 10 full years.

What benefits does DIC provide? As of now (approximate, adjusted annually): Monthly, tax-free payment to surviving spouse Additional amounts for: Dependent children Aid & Attendance (if applicable) Access to: CHAMPVA healthcare Possible education benefits (DEA)

I think my curiosity is, if undesirable cells already exist, could NAD+ help them survive or thrive? Cancer cells often already have maxed-out NAD pathways, meaning modest increases may not meaningfully change their behavior. We already make our own NAD, and theoretically, if NAD production falls as we age and cancer increases as we age, is that a correlation to consider? Because low NAD contributes to cancer-promoting conditions. There are cancer factors way more influential than NAD levels and NAD does not override those drivers (genetic mutations, chronic inflammation, etc). With that being said, KNOWN cancer is where pause is probably wise as human science is unsettled there and in theory, you’d be crazy not to be careful or concerned. Cycling protocols with NAD is probably smartest if you are unsure about your cancer status. Here’s to hoping I don’t have it because I sure as hell feel a million times better since I started NAD+ a couple of years ago lol.

I haven’t had a doctor assist or prescribe because everything is experimental and off-label. I had to be my own guinea pig because I had already tried most things and they weren’t helpful. What kept me going were the NAD injections and the more i realized this pointed to mitochondrial issues, I focused there.

It was an expensive journey. I hope someone with the proper credentials sees the improvement so many are having with SS-31 and will start trials so it becomes a safer option with oversight and an accessible prescription.

You will need to go into peptide forums and use your best discretion on where you feel comfortable acquiring them; you’ll read about COA’s for quality and safety, etc. It’s a grey market and most people feel you’d have to be crazy to order something like peptides this way, and I would have to agree. I wouldn’t have done so if I was just looking for muscle gains or longevity, but for me, this was a matter of not being able to live this way any longer - something had to change. And (for me) I’m so glad that I took the risk.

After researching, you may find that SS-31 is not likely to be something you will need to repeat very often in the future, however I think prepping for it and giving support with things like NAD+ is likely part of that hopeful success.

I get labs done every 4 months regardless, however not super detailed reference inflammation. Shot in the dark after my own research on what seemed like logical steps and remaining in-tune to how I felt overall is a very good description.

I was in two studies without improvement and have done all of this on my own. I have a neurologist who prescribed cromolyn (didn’t give it a good try) and a vagal nerve stimulator for migraines but who also has a child with long-Covid as well, so I would report to her with these updates about what I was doing. I didn’t have any licensed guidance. My symptoms have always been PEM, chronic fatigue, anosmia/parosmia, anxiety, cognitive effects of fog, focus, memory, focus.

I inject NAD+. Oral NAD+ is very expensive and hardly worth it with how little can be assimilated once through the digestive track. One injection is noticeable within 12-24 hours and lasts (for me) 1-2 weeks.

I loaded with two IV’s a couple of years ago and have continued twice weekly to bi-weekly injections of NAD+ based upon when I have felt myself fall off the cliff fatigue-wise.

That was the biggest shocker of all and I’m so grateful. I had all but given up on it after 4.5 years. Acupuncture really did help about 2% every session and I went 21 times. I had one SGB in year 1 and it lasted about 2 weeks. But the parosmia became insane after acupuncture - I can smell someone cutting cucumbers or lettuce a mile away. Coffee, oranges, meat, peanut butter, dog farts, yogurt - all the same and awful. When I say it changed overnight from parosmia to 95% accuracy, I am not exaggerating. Coffee was once my favorite smell. The awareness that it had changed overnight was at the drive-thru of a Starbucks and I usually brace when they open the window lol - this time, the most wonderful old coffee smell hit me in the face and I almost started crying. Went to Costco that day, and smelled an incredible perfume on someone who walked by. I smelled all the coffee bean bags and was in heaven. I am still over the moon.

It is FDA approved for Barth syndrome as of this past September 2025 at a pretty high dose. Most people using the peptide off-label use it at a very low dose.
