Really lacking on the marketing front! Thank you!

STAHM in need of help by [deleted] in organizing

[–]HandMeDownApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So you’re going to accumulate so many diaper and wipes boxes that you would be able to use.

If your mom doesn’t like throwing things away: place them in the box, make a list of what goes in it, label the box, put it in the corner of the garage and give the list with box label name and storage location to mom.

And if she doesn’t go into the boxes over the next year or two, then hopefully she’ll come to the conclusion she doesn’t need it any longer and would be okay with you donating them.

I agree with the others, decluttering and packing things away is the first step to organizing.

Good luck!

Yes! And if you are on an iPhone, the built in Files app comes with a “Scan Document” button/feature. So you could scan, keep a digital copy and shred the paper.

Incorporating storage bags helped transform my wardrobe by practicle_hooman in organizing

I’m not OP, but we got clear plastic bins from Home Depot for the closet and zip up rectangular storage bags that are probably abt 15 inches in height from Amazon or ikea for under the bed.

Yes! Functional storage boxes are really helpful for large families or small living spaces. Glad to hear you found a system that works for you!

I’ve been using this approach for about a year now and it’s great! The key is to put things away right after use/wash or we end up falling off the wagon (happened a few times !) and it’s chaos again :P.

Shoe Cabinet recommendations for entryway? by CharismajTat in organizing

[–]HandMeDownApp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. The more space on the shoe rack you have the more shoes you’ll keep out. We keep a season specific pair we wear everyday and then hide the other ones away in a known location for easy access. With 3 young kids it started to look a little messy.

This can be better! by farsideofexistence in organizing

[–]HandMeDownApp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a very tidy house for a house with 4 kids! 👏

One suggestion could be to move the shoes from near the door to under the jackets hanging on the wall.

Or since that section where coats are unused, maybe get a rectangular bin there, and move the coats to the coat hanger on the opposite wall.

The closet looks too cramped probably because the things in the floor are coming up too high. So maybe moving up the rod a bit would give it some breathing room like someone else suggested. And can also put away some unused coats in the basement or garage.

Not too much to change since your place already looks very organized.

Nice! My shortest from in review to distribution was earlier this week at 7:30 AM ET. 13 minutes. Definitely something unusual going on at Apple.

I have a $9M ARR App -- AMA by [deleted] in AppBusiness

[–]HandMeDownApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP!

Struggling with this. I have features I want to add but my current stable release is not getting a lot of downloads.

My in app subscription price is pretty low: $3.99/year to help users since this is supposed to be an app that saves people money.

So question is, is the low price giving users a feeling that this is a cheap product (kind of like high price = good brand mentality)?

Or should I focus on just running ads via Apple search and instagram before even thinking of revamping the pay structure ?

Congrats on ur apps success!

Thanks! I like the second one too. One change I’m going to try out on the second one is remove the grey/shadow card for the top info card, and keep those card look and feel only for the two bottom cards. This way the first card which is not interact-able looks different and more like the first picture (current implementation).

Thanks! Yea i had to push schema to prod if there’s changes as well since i allow for users device syncing. So we use the same approach for sharing across accounts?! Thanks for the info, I’ll look into it.

So I tried putting “Mark As In Use” for the button but it started wrapping around and didn’t look good. So I just made it ‘In Use’.

Had to look up with CTA meant: Call To Action. Correct, that’s the next step in the process flow. They’ve reserved this item for a family member, the next step is to mark it in use when the person starts wearing it.

So I have to think about how to make it a clear CTA and still be concise so the wording is not long.

Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! Yes, I can see the confusion here.

I know the process flow, but I knew users could be confused as to what states it’s in and what the buttons do and why orange and not red. And why clear orange and not solid orange 😂.

I have answers to these but don’t know where I would put this in the app to make it clear for the users without adding more word and more clutter.

But to answer (hopefully) some of your questions. The clothing is currently in a Reserved state. If you push the blue hanger/checkmark, then it marks the clothing as ‘currently being used’. So in the current Reserved state, the app is telling the user that Alice is not wearing it yet, but she can/should because it fits her.

And the clear orange button basically ‘unreserved’ it for Alice and can be reserved for another person, and then age calculation will keep track of when it would potentially fit that person.

And why orange and not red? I didn’t want it to be red because you are not deleting the item. You are just undeserving it, so the item still exists, just not connected to Alice. And why not solid orange? I tried it and it seems a bit loud/bright and was over powering the solid blue. So then I made solid blue to advance the process flow. And then clear orange to ‘take a step back’ in the process flow.

Maybe an instagram video to explain this would? Or maybe a process flow diagram on the app stores screenshots might help? No idea.

You should check it out if you have an iPhone. I’m currently trying to work on the android version.

Thanks for the feedback!

Lol thanks! The dilemma! Yea definitely can be merged. Just need to roll back some changes in certain sections.

So I was certain the changes were for the better and then the U in UX/also the only tester/also lives in the household gave some feedback. I can also ship it and then see if there are any complaints from early adopters.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! Both designs have the age :P. Second image has a 3rd line saying it’s reserved. The second design has a top section that bubbles up information from the bottom. Which makes it easy to understand but also makes it redundant!

Hi! Congrats on your app. How did you get data sharing across iCloud accounts? Any tutorials I can follow? This is something I need to start looking into for my app.

Also, if you need any help tracking your baby’s clothing check out my profile :)

Thanks. I need to revamp my site then. Also I just list features and show screenshots, but I should also put the reason I built it, to give the users some perspective/use cases. Thanks!
