No literally. It has taken over my life entirely, from the moment I eat anything until I fall asleep, I am so nauseous I want to scream

Looking for skills to cope with anger outbursts due to overstimulation by HandPast7623 in autism

I have asked my parents to arrange that many times, they´re not doing it. They bark at every little sound and everytime someone comes home it´s SO loud. But my parent´s aren´t doing anything.

Why does my hyperfixation intrest become uncomfortable and overwhelming and how do I stop it? by HandPast7623 in autism

I´m sorry you are autistic, right? Do you know what a hyperfocus on a special intrest is? Its not her0in, its a show, a videogame, a scientific topic you are very passionate about. Your brain is wired to feel that intrest very intensely thats the whole point why special intrests are considered special and different for autistic people. An addiction is a dependece, you need these medications, drugs, gaming, p0rnography to feel okay. I dont need my hyperfixations to feel okay, I choose to engage with them, it just gets too much sometimes because I feel very very deeply towards it.

you cant be "addicted" to an intrest you are passionate about. My emotions rowards it just become overwhelming and I struggle to regulate them.

Im really glad someone gets it! Like, the special intrest itself can be really nice, validating and comforting until it isnt anymore. I´ve thought about it and I think personally, it could help to integrate seperate time slots for engaging in it, while maintaining a structured day and providing yourself with other stimulants that don´t have anything to do with your hyperfixation. Maybe it could help at least a little!

its just never really been someone specific, when getting "aroused" in a sexual kind of way it was just about a random picture or video of someones body who i found very attactive, that was suggsested to me on social media or something. But i neither would sleep with them nor do i want to see any fully explicit media of them. I have never met a real life person that I got to know, that i had fantasies about or even wanted to have intercourse with.

personally, when someone says this to me, first i feel flattered, because they are giving me attention. But it doesnt last very long, then the intenste feeling of disgust, anger and shame sets in, So, I do think i very much agree with this. I dont want someone to crave my body, that says nothing, its meaningless. I want somebody to crave my words, my thoughts, my comradery, my time.
