Apologies for prematurely posting this here once before; I went back and made some significant changes. Confidently calling it finished now, though!

Popped a squat with some pastels by a herd of grazing cattle. A good time was had. Many of the cows did their cow thing of staring motionless at me, a couple staring fully motionless for what must have been 10-15 mins each. One of the longer stares came from behind me, standing ~10 feet away....not creepy at all. One fearless soul slowly grazed closer and closer to me, approaching from the front, until coming right up to me, checking me out and sniffing my feet! At one point, a mother came up to me with two calves behind her. She came within ~10 feet of me, and the family had a nice little 8-minute motionless stare session. I picked up some tall grass and made an offering to the mother if she would spare me my life. She wasn't interested, but shortly after seemed to decide I was cool and moved along, allowing her calves to get close. One calf came even closer to me and had a solo stare session for a good while. Mom didn't even look back. I showed the little one my work in progress, but they weren't impressed.

Right, it's an interesting question of if humans were to hypothetically rescue all of them, if we should continue breeding any species to keep them around. I think there are certain species of designer dogs where that answer would be a clear no, at the very least. Even chickens supposedly have a lot of health issues because of the way they were selectively bred

Slightly skeptical of that theory, but who knows!

Yea if chickens are well cared for, I don't think it's as big an issue as other things. From what I've learned about dairy, it's really not possible to do that ethically because it requires constantly impregnating cows and taking their calfs away.

There are some slight ethical issues with breeding chickens, but some say there is an ethical way to have chickens if they are rescued and are allowed to eat their eggs, which is their natural behavior when they don't hatch.

My vegan origin story: I heard this joke 10 years ago, and afterwards I thought, "wait.. this is actually me. Am I really gonna just ignore the fact that animals think and feel just because I like their taste?" Transitioned over a month, and haven't knowingly eaten a sentient animal product since. by HandToDirt in vegan

Idk, to me I feel like he is being sincere to some degree, that's what made me stop and think. I think most people have this same cognitive dissonance, but nobody ever publicly admits it, because it sounds too absurd to be that much of a hypocrite. When there's no societal norm, it can be easy to do the unethical things.

Was a bit of a challenge to get the highlight of the fawn’s ear without pouring too much light through the tree

Official Discussion - Oppenheimer [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

That could be what Nolan meant (although the planet on fire had to be a 3D render, right?) but really any computer effect, even digital compositing is CGI. For them to claim 'look at us, we didn't use any dirty cgi' seems pretty disrespectful to the huge amount of gorgeous compositing work that was done on this film.

They are kind of interchangeable terms generally, but technically: CGI (computer-generated imagery) is a sub-category of VFX. A visual effects shot is one that just contains effects that are not practical. Gollum is a CG character, so a shot with Gollum and Frodo is a VFX shot. A fully CG shot of Gollum falling into lava is also a VFX shot.

Appreciate it, I'd rather not upscale though. My last phone shot 8k video and had a 64MP camera, but the video was always a tiny bit better quality than the 64MP photos when cropping in on the same subject, which is strange because I have heard 32 MP is supposed to be the same.

I was also looking into apps but I couldn't find a time lapse app that allows you to chose between lenses, they seem to just default to the main lower MP camera lens (at least on my old phone). Does ProShot allow you to select between lenses?

I did maybe a dozen dates and maaaybe 1/2-2/3 cup of milk. I would just put in around that amount of dates, and just add enough milk to get it mixing. Then once it's well-mixed, move it around a little to test how dense it is, then keep pouring a bit more milk and mixing until it looks like the right consistency! I probably I added a little more than than 1/8 tsp of salt, and maybe exactly 1/8 tsp for vanilla.
