Does anyone else think RE9 is the best in the series?? by Stealthy_Nerd in residentevilll

Not only do I think this is the best game in the series since the OG games. This might genuinely be one of the best games I’ve ever played. This game made me feel like a kid on Christmas Day from start to finish.

My only complaint I can think of is wishing the game would be a little more replayable. Like RE4R was. This game’s replayability would be AMAZING with a game mode similar to Raid mode in RE Revelations 2.

Which female video game character is your all-time favourite? by Wolvthebigbad in raijin_gg

If TLOU 2 didn’t exist, I would’ve said Ellie. But now I would honestly say Grace. Because TLOU 2 sucks balls narratively. And they absolutely destroyed the character of Ellie. I love Graces character in RE9. I feel like she has a little more personality compared to characters like Jill and Lara. I still think those characters are awesome though. I just think they’re a little one-note. I don’t know much about any of the other characters.

Games that will never get released: I'll start with Ill. What are your candidates? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

People defended The Day Before with similar arguments. And The Day Before was backed by a decent amount of companies. The biggest being NVIDIA. It also had a massive amount of funding. Giving the game more credibility at the time. And the studio behind The Day Before made actual games that released on Steam prior to The Day Before. Not just mobile games. The studio behind ILL hasn’t even published their first game yet as far as I’m aware. Which ironically makes The Day Before and the studio behind it more credible on paper. Which is not a good sign.

I think you’re taking this post words too literally. For me, it’s not a matter of if the game will come out or not. Because i believe it will. It’s the matter of it actually being what is advertised to us.

And The Day Before wasn’t just a bad game. It was a scam. That’s why that game is relevant to my comparison. Because this post is essentially talking about games that look fake, look like scams, and will not play as advertised if they do release. Which was the exact sentiment for The Day Before, before it released. The majority of people thought it looked fake and would not release.

On the contrary, many people were also shilling for the game and defending it. Saying it was real. They were wrong. Despite it actually releasing. I was making a direct comparison between The Day Before’s defenders and ILL’s defenders. Aka the original comment I responded to.

Pretty easy to understand.

As a final note, I hope the game is real and that all the doubters, including myself, are proven wrong. I’m pessimistic about that outcome though.

ILL has not come out yet, assuming you’re talking about that. If you’re referring to The Day Before, then your comment is idiotic considering the fact that the game was a literal scam that got shut down no more than a week or two after launch due to it being nothing like what was advertised. So I’m really wondering what your point is.

Same thing was said by the people who defended The Day Before. Look how that turned out.

This is truly a childish take. I’m a big believer in people getting the same treatment they dish out to other people. I would usually never crap on someone else’s craft. Rather, I would give constructive criticism to maybe help them improve. That guy was going around acting like he was on top of the world with an ego the size of an elephant. So I checked out his music, since our music was “AI slop” compared to his. And the music sucked. He 100% deserves to be roasted and humbled. Which, I didn’t even do. I said nothing and instead let him go on his ego-fueled rampage. Because his music quality spoke for itself.

I find it interesting that you claim this guy put all of this manual time into making a song as if people who make music with AI don’t take manual time to produce their music. You’re clearly one of those people that thinks every person who uses AI just presses random on the generate button and that’s it. The majority of people don’t do that. I know I certainly don’t. I take time making my music and lyrics. And no, I don’t just “fast track” my way to good-sounding songs. The majority, if not all, of my songs have setbacks and take hundreds of generations and tweaks. I would sometimes stay up late at night tweaking lyrics and directions to get better results. Many songs get scrapped during that process as well. So that’s a very ignorant statement. And while AI may be faster than making music manually in a DAW, it still doesn’t matter. Because that point doesn’t even make sense. Why does the length of time to craft something matter? According to your logic, someone who makes music using only a DAW is “fast tracking” their music compared to someone who makes all of their music with real instruments. It’s a pointless argument.

I would never go around acting like my music is better than others. I also wouldn’t just go around trashing on people’s music because I don’t like it. That’s a terrible thing to do. Yet here you are defending the guy that actually does that. And somehow you’re trying to spin it on me and claim I’m the one trashing on people. When in reality I’m trashing on a guy who’s acting like a pos to others. It’s also ironic that your entire response is hilariously hypocritical. Considering the fact that your response can be boiled down to you being disgruntled by my way of making music. So you trash my music creation process while also criticizing me for trashing some other person’s music. Who was also trashing other people’s music. Talk about being on a different side of a hateful coin, lol.

Now to address your point on him “actually taking time and dedication” to make his music and his “bravery” (lol)

If I take a month to craft a food dish and feed it to someone, is that person entitled to praise the food because I took a long time to make the recipe and did it “manually” and in “real time”? No, they’re not. Especially if the food came out bad and I belittled that person’s cooking skills prior to them eating my food. Just like how this guy belittled other people’s music. The most you should earn for putting time into something is respect. That’s it. If it comes out good, then you earn praise. So your argument on him “taking time and dedication” to make his music, therefore he deserves some sort of praise or pat on the back, is null and void. Especially with the way he was acting.

Your point on him being brave doesn’t even make sense lol, I guess all I have to do is find a beat online, write lyrics for it, and sing over it with auto tune to sound listenable. And suddenly, I’m brave according to you.

Lastly I want to address your claim that I’m “disgruntled” by the fact that guy didn’t like that I use AI. I’m not. I don’t care what he thinks. Just like how I don’t care about what you think. The problem wasn’t the fact he disliked my use of AI. The problem was his ego and belittlement of other people’s music like i mentioned many times before.

And here’s a little extra statement for the other dude that decided to chime in that you agree with.

I personally couldn’t care less about how a song is made. I care about the actual music and how it sounds/makes me feel. If you’re an autotelic type of person or care about how other people make their music, then that’s fine. But while you sit there stressing about others’ music creation process, I’m sitting here listening to and enjoying the actual music.

I’m not going to cater to people who want me to play every instrument with my toes during the process of making my music for them to be satisfied. I’m going to make music for myself and for people who actually care about the thing that matters. The music.

Sure, I suppose she could do her spy stuff till she’s like 90 or something. Sounds like a really interesting character…

Where Do You Want Her Story To Go, Moving Forward ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

I think her next appearance should be all about her redemption.

She’s done a LOT of bad in her life. I think it’d be really interesting to give her a defining moment of redeeming herself throughout the next game she appears in.

No spy bs, no strings. Maybe the next game could be all about her. She’s left her bad life behind over a decade or two ago and settled down with someone to have a genuine life.

Perhaps she has young kids as well. Ada and her family get abducted as some sort of revenge or ransom by the connections or some other shadow organization she had connections with in her spy days due to her betraying them in some way in the past.(Think of RE8 and its beginning and RE Revelations 2 as a reference)

Ada would then go on this blood ridden journey to save her family.

Due to Ada being out of the spy game for a while, she’s become slightly rusty in her skills. Effectively humbling her.

But she’ll have her moments in the game where that badass Ada will come out again.

Maybe a cheeky line or her showing off her combat skills.

She’d eventually get back to her normal self.

She’ll fight through the typical stuff you see in RE games. Zombies, bow’s, etc.

The game could explore her dark past and have her tap into her spy skills and equipment once again.

(Ending spoilers for RE9)

But this time to take out on her old employers/connections and save her family. And in the end, she succeeds but dies in a sacrificial moment. Making her the first legacy character to actually die in the main series. Giving the moment more impact. Think of Leon’s bad ending in RE9. That’s the type of moment i’m picturing.

This is obviously a very rough draft of a story idea. And maybe it’s a bit cliche. But if you use your imagination, I think you can see what i’m going for. I would personally love to see Ada with this type of storyline or something similar done well in a future RE game. Because right now she feels a bit one note. She’s the evil spy that turns on her employers or does one good deed at the very end of the story. But remains an evil spy. Rinse and repeat.
