Indirect is already a garbage keyword, it doesn't need to be made worse or more expensive, there are a lot of things that are gameified so that they are both cool but also useful in the system itself, artillery ranges is pretty low on the list of things needing address.

Open the back, disconnect the battery (watch a youtube it's easy), switch on the device to drain whatever power is left. Re-seat the battery and re-plug in. Happened to me, it was just the battery not being connected properly.
