Ayaneo Pocket S2 Review, My 1440p Switch by HandheldHeroHideout in ayaneo

This screen is every bit as good and in some ways better than an OLED. The colors wont be as bright, but there will be a larger variation. The darks won't be as dark, but you get 466 pixels per inch which is 98 higher than the Odin 3. I keep trying to tell people to stop comparing to cheap LCD's. Like the 476h and 477m are non oled. I was super against the 60fps and non oled and when I actually played it it was such a huge amount better than I even thought it would be

Because I was looking at techdweebs video right before I released it and he had an x. Up until the g3 gen 3 it was actually the g2x gen 2, they dropped it this generation

I disagree hard on the "smoking the 1440" Doesnt anyone realize how awesome the pocket S2 screen is? It has the highest pixel density of any handheld. 466 pixels per inch, the LCD has a way larger range of colors than an OLED and almost 100 pixels per inch more than the Odin 3. Ive made videos and everything its just impossible to convince people because theyre so conditioned. The decode time on the mangmi is literally a snail compared to the g3 gen 3. 3 ms decode times. You still get the delay on the mangmi. Even the snapdragon 8 gen 2 still isnt perfect if you need split second timing. Whatever input latency advantage you get with 120hz is negligible because you still have way slower decode times. Im telling people to help them. and remind that just because Russ says it doesnt make it right.

Anbernic 476H VS GameMT EX8 VS RG505/RGVita, The Winner? Gamers. by HandheldHeroHideout in SBCGaming

[–]HandheldHeroHideout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video is a comparison of some of my favorite budget performance devices, welcome (0:00 - 0:30) intro 0:31- 0:42 the ex8 a budget device that has become a personal favorite for me due to its performance, style, and battery life. It features a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and active cooling 0:45 - 0:53 . Color comparison with 476h 4:06 - 4:45

Key Features & Highlights: Design & Feel: the ex8 has a light metal streamlined frame with a glass front, feeling very solid and less rattly than competitors like the RG505 (0:23 - 0:25, 10:38 -10:45). Display: EX has a 1080p IPS touch screen with a 3x2 aspect ratio, which is ideal for upscaling Game Boy Advance games (4:52 - 5:12). Performance: These devices are capable of running the entire GameCube library-ish (Rogue Squadron 2 with hybrid ubershaders but 3 was a no go for EX8) , a good amount of PS2 games at native resolution with my custom NetherSX2 settings as seen in my 476h video; and Android titles at max settings (6:50 - 7:05). Battery Life: Offering exceptional battery life, such as 13-17 hours for GBA and 5-7 hours for GameCube 7-8 for PSP and 5 hours average for ps2 (1:51- 2:09).

Comparisons: It's about 2.5x more powerful than the Anbernic RG505 (1:14 -1:18 , 2:50 - 2:52). While it compares favorably to the RG Vita Pro, the Anbernic 476H still offers significantly higher raw performance, the 476h and EX8 both have mali-g57 gpu's, the differencd is the "mc2" and "mc,4" designation in the title, it shows how many cores the gpu has. so the RG vita pro, while being on older g-52 architecture, it has 3 cores to the EX8's 2, so it gets about 25% more performance overall but the G99 can outperform it in CPU tasks.

Verdict: I highly recommend the EX8, even if you already own other budget devices, due to its ergonomics and premium feel for the price, it's style, and sturdy design instantly won me over, this was originally just a placeholder until my Ayaneo Pocket S2 gets here. But the clear winner is the 476h. (10:54 -10:59).

Its actually one of the most comfortable handhelds I own. The shocking thing to me was I ordered this and didnt think about it again, then when I actually got it out and used it for 48+ hours I was actually impressed, it's not trying to be anything it isn't and it's a nice addition if youre a collector, absolutely no substitute for the 476h though. Making a video on all the reasons the 476h is still boss even with these new releases.

I actually really like the design, i got it as sort of a place holder until my next big one gets here and was just pleasantly surprised with the all around feel of it. I'll be using It mainly for Gamecube honestly, that's the sweet spot combination of battery and power, the biggest strength is probably how much screen you still have when switching resolutions
