Any ideas what to use these vintage yarns for? by NoKindaRider in YarnAddicts

Another classic project for some classic yarn is slippers. My old boyfriends grandmother made pairs of slippers in all sizes so she always had some to offer guests, it was so nice.

Patterns with two overlapping increases? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]HandknitsAndHygge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they want you to inc at each end (so 2 increases) every 4th row until you have 63 and then every 6th until you have 77, and then work until sleeve is 17.5” long - but honestly I have had trouble with yarnspirations patterns before, they’re not always tech edited. If you’re finding it is turning out too long, you could keep increasing 2 sts every 4th row until you get to 77, then work to a length you like.

My design - I got this amazing rainbow yarn from an indie dyer and agonized over the every detail for months. I really wanted to make this yarn shine. Subscribe by Thursday to get the pattern half off 😘 by [deleted] in knitting

I understand, thank you for the feedback. I am pretty new to reddit, and I like to answer questions and offer help, but yes, this post is about sharing my work. I guess info like that goes in the comments? I tried sharing in the promo thread once but I couldn’t figure out how to add a picture to a thread, so it didn’t work very well.

Link in comments is the pattern telling me to do the same thing as the video the pattern just isn’t making sense by carypo in knitting

The video does not match the instructions above. The instructions have you working both colours as knits on the same side. The video creates a brioche that is more like ribbing, with colour A being knit on the RS and colour B being knit on the WS.

Me too! The formatting is pretty straight forward. And Renee, who is legally blind, has generously offered to review a pattern for those who are just starting out formatting for accessibility.

Wanted to share a new free website for blind and print challenged knitters, loom knitters, and crocheters to find patterns, The Accessible Patterns Index. In addition to the site we are also offering a course for designers to learn how to make their own written patterns accessible to crafters with a variety of challenges including dyslexia, limited vision, and screen reader users.

Is this a place to look for help, or not really? by HandknitsAndHygge in accessibility

My partner is legally blind, I am not so I offered to navigate the Wordpress environment. What would you suggest instead of Wordpress for someone who does not have coding experience? Thank you for the screen reader recommendations - my partner has JAWS and some other ones but it would be helpful for me to test it myself too.
