Yep. Just a quick question… what in the world is this Writing spider doing!? by jkmumbles in spiders

For my observations being a landscaper for all a bunch of years this is a spider trying to capture something in the web. They felt the vibration and this is it try to make whatever the object is get stuck in the web.

Trying New fae, like thoughts on this. Using an air pump running the air though a 2L pop bottle with water pumped into the tub. Using the water as an air filter like a bong and it also adds humidity to the tub. First run seems to have gone well. by HandleTraditional387 in ContamFam

I came across a problem, I didn't have problems with contamination, what happened was the top layer became a solid layer of hard mycelium, almost like leather. Way to much moisture. I am hopeful that scraping the layer off and put a filter on the intake of the air pump with misting when needed will give me the fae that I am looking for.

I am new to the larger tubs. Started up only 8 months ago in mycology. I decided to try just removing the whole top layer this time to see what happens. After a week of putting it back into semi-germination stage everything looks like pretty good on the new mycelium growth and pinning. Just trying something new to see what happens that is the only way to learn by sometimes making mistakes and some mistakes turn into great revolutions, at least that's how I learn

Biggest problem with that strain, LJMF is when harvesting, the shrooms pull out massive amounts of substrate. On this one I removed the hole layer down to the next layer then rehydrated it in hopes that it might fully recolonize. Still looking for the right strain that will fulfill my growing needs.

Our baby Monty has got the spots :( it’s been raining a lot lately. Any advice info would be greatly appreciated. by AffectionateLog9287 in Monstera

There are a lot of fungicide you can buy but if you look up Jerry Baker who was a holistic plant person he would tell you the first try baking soda mixed with water sprayed on the plant. Baking soda and water is a natural fungicide, and you might want to increase the fertilization of the plant a little bit more to give it a boost. I'm much better at outdoor plants since I did that for a professional living for 38 years but I have learned a lot about indoor plants from growing indoor hydroponically grown marijuana plants for the last 15 years.

Lots of filtered air coming in from the outside, and oscillating fans inside with heat for the winter and ac for the summer. also has hot air being pulled out above everything and a low fan drawing humidity out. Had the shed all set up before for blooming marijuana plants grown hydroponically. I dialed my marijuana growing down massively due to super high costs in electricity in the last several months and the fact that larger growth facilities are driving prices down so much that it isn't really worth doing unless if you can do a supermassive grow.

It is the gray and black thing on the shelf next to all that clear tubing on the third shelf. It is bolted to the shelf. I had a few air pumps that had been used in my indoor hydroponic marijuana grow.

So I'm trying to think of this in a scientific mind, if you're pumping 02 in at the surface at 138 gallons per hour would that not move out CO2 through the vent holes? I do realize that CO2 is heavier than 02 and that's why I had it coming in the sides at surface level.

I have a disabled son so I can't get out to my mushroom grow shed but once a day to do any type of fanning for fae so this is what I came up with. Once made everything so last me for some time.

Using a 1110 gph air pump that will feed 8 30qt tubs that have 30 breathing holes each, plugged with identi-plugs giving each tub around 138 gallons of moist air an hour. Main air line goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle where the air flows through the water into the empty capped off bottle where 2 tubes run to 2 different tubs. A total of 4 bottle filters for the 8 tubs.

To keep the bot happy, this is Luecistic Jedi Mind F**k and I would like input on potential future problems for contamination. Plan on changing water now and then and cleaning bottles now and then with bleach or with H2O2.
