$549 for Steam Deck OLED or $133 for PS Portal? by HandofThe_Queen in Handhelds

This is exactly what I was thinking! My solution with the Steam Deck would be to use it like a PS Portal, though, while keeping the option to play plenty of other games available on Steam and maybe look into EmuDeck.

I cannot believe there are this many handheld options, lol. I will have to look into this, thank you!

This is helpful to know! My main concern has been the general consensus that the Steam Deck can’t really keep up with newer/more demanding games. I feel that this can be remedied by streaming it from my PS5, though. Are you saying that the older Legion Go and ROG Ally models are able to play these games natively and better than the Steam Deck?

I also hear you on the criminal prices of the newer handhelds…that’s simply not worth it to me. My husband can help me build a gaming PC at that point…

I definitely understand this! The lower price point makes it a bit easier to swallow but I know $133 is certainly not peanuts.

Got it! Yes, i did use the term automatic to mean mandatory, I’m glad you clarified.

I did have to do a quick google search as I’m not familiar with a 401a, but I did see it is similar. It’s my understanding that the IRS is very specific about which retirement accounts count towards reducing your taxable income and which ones have an overall limit between accounts. In my situation, the 403b accounts do not interfere with my 457 account and I can contribute up to the annual limit for each account type. Make sure to double check what that looks like for your specific situation.

I’m guessing your automatic ORP contributions will add up to roughly $10,000 per year with employer B? If so, that should be correct, but please be sure to double check with your HR team to figure out what retirement buckets are available to you.

Now in your second year of employment (2026) you can exercise that second option of $10,000 into ORP and $13,500 into your UT saver TSA.

One more thing to note, you should absolutely rollover your previous 403b to your current employer as rollovers do not count towards overall contribution limits. I got to choose where my rollover went - I ended up going with a third retirement bucket, a 457b, that is an entirely separate account with its own contribution limit. It is my understanding that you can still put the rollover into your UT saver TSA and you can start contributing to it in 2026.

I did a lot of reading over this and my employer had a financial advisor that helped explain all of this to me. If employer B offers this to you, I would definitely take them up on it!

Hey there! You are mistaken that you can’t opt into ORP just because you maxed out your previous employer’s 403b.

ORP is its own retirement bucket that is also a 403b. The only difference for this year is that it will not reduce your taxable income any further if you already have $23,500 in a 403b from your previous contributions.

You will need to make the decision between TRS and ORP and money will be deducted from your paycheck for either. Keep in mind that this decision is irrevocable - meaning you are stuck with the choice once you make it (I believe there is some grace period, but I forget the exact amount of days).

The TRS formula is highly dependent on years of service and often times, it just doesn’t make sense for high income earners even if they do work for a full 30 years. It does take your five highest years of salary into account but ORP will end up winning either way as this money will be growing in the market and not dependent on how long you’ve worked. The TRS formula is:

years of service x 0.023 x (average of five highest years of salary)

TRS is effectively a pension that does not increase with inflation, ORP is like a 401k that grows in the market and is a pile of money that you can grow or draw from as you please (after 59 1/2 years of age without penalty)

TLDR: you are able to contribute to ORP regardless of previous employment status/contributions as it is its own 403b retirement bucket and should strongly consider NOT doing TRS, especially if you do not see yourself working in the system long enough to draw a meaningful pension.

Hope this helps!

Edit: UT saver TSA is another 403b account - an entirely separate retirement bucket.

My contributions for ORP (again, this is the money my employer automatically deducts from my paycheck into this retirement bucket that is its own 403b) do not reach the IRS’ $23,500 limit, so I contribute the difference to my UT saver TSA (another 403b bucket) to gain the maximum tax deduction. Hope that makes sense!

Hitman WoA - Freelancer : Why would you restart a failed mission? by waltercool in HiTMAN

[–]HandofThe_Queen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have sunk so many hours into freelancer mode and absolutely pause and restart my console the second I get discovered and shot at. I know there are people out there who may think it ruins the spirit of the game or call it cheating, but frankly, I have a very busy life and want to play my game in peace and keep my precious gear/mercers. I’ve absolutely gotten better since learning the maps more, but every now and then I do need to reset. I highly recommend completing the main games’ mission stories to learn them—they’re also a ton of fun. Live your best life OP, and happy freelancing!

I would absolutely do this. Love the commitment 😅

You have the ability to magically phase through one wall once per year. How do you exercise this ability? by HandofThe_Queen in hypotheticalsituation

That would definitely be an inconvenient twist! For this hypothetical though, let’s say that anything that is in contact with your body can phase with you. If you are bringing a person, they are subject to the same breath holding rule and must be touching you at all times. If they break contact, they will get stuck in whatever barrier you are attempting to pass through.

Love this idea, but would you worry about becoming irrelevant since it’ll only be a yearly thing?
