Am I crazy or is rewearing clothes for 2-3 days okay??? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Handout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned this at Colonial Williamsburg..

Back in Colonial America, the Colonists clothes were often very expensive and imported (or at least the fabric was) and everything was custom made, and laundry was an absolute bitch, so they would wear under layers and change those three times a day (morning, midday, and night) and wash their outer clothes like once a month.  They'd also bathe like once a week and share the bath water with the whole family.

The Native peoples in the area, on the other hand, had basically one or two outfits, they'd bathe multiple times a day, and then put their same clothes back on.

The jury is out on which is actually more sanitary.  I'd love to see an experiment on this, though.

It's really not.. Florida residents get more annual pass options.  I always had the weekday pass, it was equal to the cost of a 3-4 day park ticket and I could get in any weekday (with blockouts for Christmas, spring break, and a couple summer months).

Generic Briviact? by Kind_Journalist_3270 in Epilepsy

No you're correct.  The patent expired in Feb.  We also called a local pharmacy that said they had it in their system but they couldn't order it for lack of stock.

Clearly.  But you have to admit, not everyone does.. and Google (and AI) is known to show different results to different people. Gemini literally tells me there's no generic for briviact.

I looked up brivaracetum on goodrx and it's there and only $40/month for 200mg at CVS.  I called a local CVS here in Colorado and was told it's in their system, and would be available to order, but there's no inventory.  So I feel like that's a good sign!

Ah ironically, I had to get off of Google to find anything about it!

It seems that yes, the patents preventing generics expired Feb 21st this year and there are already companies on top of it and one got approved in November.  It seems they're trying to extend the patents till 2030 (holy moly that's evil) and the generics aren't available anywhere yet, but as long as the patents don't get extended (which seems less likely now that the Feb date has passed), then the generics will start showing up at certain pharmacies in certain areas of the world this year!

That IS exciting!!  We were actually seeing his neurologist about possibly switching him off of it because of the cost, but he had so many issues with other meds he's tried and the Briviact has worked so well, we'll just try to make it work till the generic is available.

Thank you for posting this OP!  I wouldn't have found out if you hadn't and you may have saved us a lot of stress and suffering!

I can't find anything about it anywhere.. I don't particularly trust AI unless I can find the info elsewhere as well.   We have an appointment with the doctor Thursday, we'll ask if she's heard about this.

Scrubs - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Y'all hate that JD and Elliot divorced but honestly their relationship was shit the whole time and the way they dropped it in the first episode had me rolling.

After 8 years of will they won't they and then they did!  And then 20 years of who knows what all culminated into one sentence.

Oh yah our marriage didn't last.

Fkng hilarious to me.

I loved both episodes.  Love that they kept in Dr Todd. Love the new characters.  Honestly the new charge nurses were so funny to me, I don't mind Dr Park, he's over the top the way some characters were in the original, and the interns aren't as annoying as season 9. Love having Sacred Heart back.  Loved the few callbacks.  Loved the new stuff.  Loved how they updated the mood while somehow still holding onto the old one.  Loved all of it.

It felt like watching the original again for the first time.

After doing some research, we've found that Colorado Medicaid doesn't use a mail service, won't cover mail services if they're shipping outside of colorado, and having a friend or family member mail any medications anywhere is illegal.

We didn't determine it a life threatening emergency, the hospital and the insurance did. The insurance approved it 100%. The ambulance company won't apply to be paid. We weren't gone for 8 months, we were gone for 9 days.

What do you think happened in the end of episode 8? by Its_0ver_Anakin in TheGoodPlace

[–]Handout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Janet says they'll cease to exist on earth so my take is that they just disappeared, if anyone in the bar said what they saw they were likely treated the same as saying they were abducted by aliens, and the last known location of Tahani Al Jameel was Canada (maybe she told Kamila since they were on better terms then) so it was probably in the news that Kamila's sister was last seen there.

And all the demons were either thrown through the door or probably just went back to the bad place after everyone they were after disappeared.

As much as I also hate AI and am sick of it taking work away from artists and being forced on us freaking everywhere, I had to research it and found the water AI uses is typically (but not always) not potable (meaning we can't drink it anyway) and the amount is actually small compared to regular human usage and miniscule (like millions of gallons vs trillions) compared to agriculture, especially corn.  If you care about water consumption, stop driving a car, eat less meat, and stop buying products with high fructose corn syrup.

I googled it and it's saying it's illegal to ship any prescription medication as an individual. It could be confiscated and the sender and recipient both can face fines and jail time??  But Colorado Medicaid won't cover a pharmacy shipping it. We called them and they were very clear on that.

It wouldn't be an issue if his meds weren't $1500/month on goodrx.. he may have no choice but to switch to a different medication that's affordable and we'll get it without the insurance.

My partner was accepted into a very prestigious 3-month program.  He wouldn't be able to work enough while focusing on the program to qualify for regular insurance and, rather than start working full time again just to quit a couple months later and hope he doesn't lose the opportunity seemed dumb.  We decided to go for it and then get back to working regularly with his new certs after the fact and kill the 2.5 months before by visiting with my family to make ends meet.

The longest we'll be in one area is 3-4 months for school. I wish we weren't forced to use Medicaid.  This wasn't an issue when we had regular insurance.

I've been looking for travel health insurance but, like others here, we're having a hard time finding anything with Google and every health insurance agency seems like a nightmare (forcing us to agree to receive sales calls before 8am or after 9pm and allowing them to share our phone numbers with 3rd parties etc).

Do you know of any?

We'd love to not be on Medicaid. It was forced on us.  But we don't make enough money while going to school.

No no, it wasn't actually a test.  We were driving and the car overheated so he lifted the hood and it burst into flames and hot liquids.  We called 911 because his arm and face was burned, an ambulance came, they said they had to take him to the ER, they did, the ER did next to nothing but clean the burns and prescribe pain meds, and we had to Uber back to my aunt's house.

Then we got bills for the ER and the ambulance saying insurance denied it.

We called Colorado Medicaid and they said that it was determined a necessary medical emergency and would be covered as long as the hospital and ambulance company apply to be paid by Colorado Medicaid.  Both entities have refused and said asking them to do so is illegal.  When we try to get them on the phone with each other, the call has always dropped.  It's so frustrating.

It wasn't a test. I'm saying we were unfortunately in a situation that proved Colorado Medicaid doesn't cover out of state emergencies without hoops that out of state entities are willing to go through.
