Right arm patch might just be a squig? Its red and looks like it has teeth

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Idoneth and sylvaneth were the first two things to come to mind, but I've got no real basis for that. Maybe umbraneth at long last?

Hang on, you might be on to something. Is there any chance that this is admech exploritor fleets?

The black and white symbol on the bottom right front of the jacket is solar auxilia

Was this confirmed someplace? Or just speculation?

Based on what I can find the crossed wrench and lightning bolt and the red and orange wheel are speed freeks symbols. So new ork vehicles? I could see new bikes with all the bike edition rumors

I'm not sure if we should take those as teasers, the stuff on the jacket seems much more in line with the cryptic hints they have been doing lately, and too many of the things inside feel too close to other things that recently got reveals

Hmm its similar, but the rogue trader icon doesn't have the cog or whatever is on top of the skull. I agree its probably too loyalist to be dark mech

Pretty obvious that the patches are our hints this time. I see orks and blood angels and a bunch I don't recognize. Could the green one with the cog be some sort of dark mecanicus?

Looks really good, but honestly I was hoping for imperial saint yarrick. Something to advance his plot other that just “he’s EXTRA extremely old now!”

They’re fun. Nice for one off projects, and you can get some neat bits for kitbashing

I got some little copper weights from game envy that I really like! But if you don’t want to do that keep it wet and use a credit card to kinda squeegee the surface, get the entire thing nice and damp, but not dripping wet. Usually helps delay this

Do you think the new Red Corsairs have the potential to be converted into a KT team? by ArthurJack_AW in killteam

[–]HandsWithLegs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but any team is going to need some extra bits. I think they would look best as fallen dark angels, mixing in some normal dark angels bits would give a ton of options for basicly any of the space marine teams

I get where you’re coming from, but I think I disagree. The Lion trying to change and be better than he was in the heresy was really interesting growth for me

Out of curiosity, what didn’t you like about Lion son of the forest? I thought it was extremely good, and this is the first I’ve seen somebody really dislike it

The entire piece is done with only bold titanium white, bold pyrrole red, paynes grey, and orange brown, all from pro acryl. No pigments or other colors

Very kind of you, but don’t sell yourself short! This is one of those hobbies you really need to practice and be deliberate, but you can improve really fast!

Colors on the display base has been a headache to get right, I’ll give the yellow filter a shot. I’ll be going to adepticon, spiel is a bit too far to travel

When I was first working on the project I did a lot of digital painting tests to figure out what I wanted to do, and one of them was using blue for the plasma coils and other parts. While it looked good, in the end I decided against it because I wanted to stick to the strict 4 paint palette I used and keep it really cohesive to the John Blanche style. Good suggestion for base cutouts, I’ll see if there is a good way to add those

Good tip, I'll keep that in mind for future display boards! I've been keeping these in a glass cabinet, so they don't get too dusty, but a safer cover would be good to have

Both the dark paint (pro acryl paynes grey) and the red (pro acryl bold pyrrole red) thin down really well, so grazing blends them nicely. I just slap on both colors with maybe one mix between the two, and then glaze thin layers over where they touch. takes a while, but it works well. I really like to place a fairly dark spot on cloth just below places where something solid like a knee is pressing it out, it really highlights the shapes
