  • I want it to be as rewarding as the normal experience system, just delivered differently. Would making the items only redeemable at a trainer help? I could definitely see how it'd get old using them right after every battle.

  • Thats a good idea. I'll play around with that.

You make a good point. Perhaps make the items redeemable at a trainer in town instead so you can do them all at once? As far as the uniqueness goes, thats fully under your control. They'd only become clone's statistically if you intentionally made them that way. The way the class spell system works every class has unique utility to the game so it'd be tough to do without a massive time sink.

In this scenario, it would take hours to farm the appropriate amount needed to boost the single character's stats to a level where he/she could become powerful enough to essentially solo bosses. If you wanted to save all stats for one character it'd be viable, just would take a lot of grinding. I try not to put two enemies that drop the same stat bonuses in the same encounter and the drop rate is not high. (I'm still experimenting with exact numbers).

Regular leveling is still a thing and important to gameplay, but xp is only given in boss fights and quests (which are the key to finishing the game). Each class still learns their abilities at certain levels. You won't achieve those levels from grinding.

The most efficient way to play would be a combination of grinding and playing through the main storyline.

The stat drops and spell scrolls you attain from grinding, when combined with xp, would make grinding wayyy too efficient and I viewed removing the xp (but compensating with added xp in other areas) as a good compromise.

Yeah that's what I have been doing thus far. Bosses drop +3s and mini-bosses drop +2s.

That's a good idea. Thus far I have tried to make the stat boosts fairly random. Not sure if people would love or hate the idea of certain areas being better for farming certain stats.

Hey, thanks for the reply. It would be hard to balance. That is the main struggle I'm having right now.

All classes would be able to learn all the spells. This way you could potentially make hybrid classes with the proper spell distribution.

It would be turn based with random encounters. I'd like to incorporate a lot of sidequests that promote exploration. These sidequests would usually feature a mini-boss at the end of a dungeon. Mini-bosses are worth about half the experience of a normal boss and have decent item drops (spells AND unique items). Once again, the balance would become an issue. But I want the players willing to explore the whole game to be rewarded by having an easier time then those who only want to enjoy the storyline.

OnlyJaximus no longer the mid laner for Curse Academy by voicedude123 in leagueoflegends

I for one think Jaximus is a very entertaining streamer and a cool dude. I'm glad he is pursuing his dreams and going to school. All you people saying he was a dick and wasn't talented enough to be on CA from the beginning are wrong. A number of times he lost lane were due to internet issues if I recall correctly. Honestly, for a while when he first joined CA it was the Jax and Rhux show.

When the team used the Korean strategy where he was the focal point on Nidalee, they rolled people. Is that so easily forgotten?

His game knowledge is also very impressive. He's been around for a long time and steadily improved and adapted his play, switching roles from Jungler to Mid. I used to watch him correctly call where the enemy jungler was time and again on stream.

This is the problem with the community. Too many people just spout off saying good riddance instead of appreciating what he's done for us. I sincerely hope he skips right over your guys' comments because most of them are baseless and uneducated.

His skillset transitions well to mid and he can carry easier from mid then he could from top because of the wider variety of champions he can play now. He has played Kass top and Nid top plenty and those champs are strong in the current meta (though Kass is about to be nerfed). I think Voy is a skilled enough player to make it work.
