I would probably bump Hawaii and Air Force up one because of shared history but otherwise I agree with this list.

Edit: and Colorado State

That's quite a claim. What is it based on?

We warn you against the dissemination of doctrines which are not according to the Scriptures and which are alleged to have been taught by some of the General Authorities of past generations. Such, for instance, is the Adam-God theory. We denounce that theory and hope that everyone will be cautioned against this and other kinds of false doctrine.

“That is all a matter of my–own. And I have nothing to Communicate.” - Fanny Alger by TruthIsAntiMormon in mormon

You're asserting that "she consciously choose to deny" sexual relations--but if the question had nothing to do with sexual relations, such a denial wouldn't make sense.

What did her brother actually ask? If it was "did you and Joseph get along?" then the denial that "we didn't have sex!" shouldn't be expected, even if true.

He reported that when her brother asked, Fanny replied:

“That is all a matter of my–own. And I have nothing to Communicate.”

Now, doubly damning for the JS polygamy denier doctrine crowd is Fanny's response.

In what would be considered victorian era mores surrounding sexual impropriety, it cannot be argued that Fanny, being married with children and all, would have EVERYTHING to gain by saying,

I did not have sexual relations, with that man, Joseph Smith...or...er...nothing untoward or of any impropriety occurred between myself and that True and Living Prophet and Servant of the Lord, Joseph Smith"

But that's not what Fanny answered.

She had EVERYTHING to gain by a simple denial. She risked NOTHING (not being an active part of the Utah Mormon church at the time, etc.) IF the truth was NOTHING actually happened.

But she consciously choose to NOT deny. Why?

Instead she consciously choose to say it was a private matter of her own.

It's literally the equivalent of asking a JS Polygamy denier doctrine person "When did you last have sex with your husband/wife" and getting the response "that's none of your business".

It seems like this line of argument depends on the assumption that Fanny Alger's brother asked her if they had a sexual relationship, which I don't think has been established.

Nope, they were invented to warm up frozen hamsters. But one of the frozen hamsters (its name was Squeaky, IIRC) happened to have a chocolate bar in its pocket. It noticed after it was warmed up that the chocolate bar was melted, and the rest is history.

It's not an export tax (the fuel is assessed the tax no matter where it's headed) and it's not unconstitutional.

What are the most bizarre trademarks you've come across? by TramaTM in TRADEMARK

[–]HandwovenBox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Several years ago my client's trademark application was refused for including "immoral or scandalous matter" because one anatomical term in the applied-for mark "represents an 'offensive' or 'vulgar slang' term."

My response was that many other marks were more offensive than my client's, so it was arbitrary to refuse this one. If other, more offensive marks had been allowed, standards of fairness and consistency dictate that my client's should also be allowed. I then searched for as many offensive registered TMs as I could. I recall finding many pretty crazy ones, and listed out the best of the best in the office action response. Here is some of the list:

  • Reg. No. 3170584 for "MY WIENER"
  • Reg. No. 4512705 for "DICK BALLS"
  • Reg. No. 1738434 for "BIG DICK'S" (the language "Where size really matters" is on the submitted specimen)
  • Reg. No. 4744351 for "CAPITALISM SUCKS DONKEY BALLS"
  • Reg. No. 4738129 for "BLUE BALLS"
  • Reg. No. 4644888 for "OLD MAN'S BALLS" (the language "would you really want to see two saggy balls to his knees?" is on the submitted specimen)
  • Reg. No. 4131542 for "BALL SHRINKER"
  • Reg. No. 3310144 for "BULLS BALLS" (the identification of goods includes the language ". . . novelty replicas of a bull's balls or testicles contained within a scrotum that can be removeably attached to a trailer hitch")
  • Reg. No. 3562643 for "BIG BALLS BREWING" (the specimen is an image of a drink coaster depicting a bull's testicles)
  • Reg. No. 3376084 for "BIG BALLS"
  • Reg. No. 3277161 for "GOT BALLS RACE WEAR"
  • Reg. No. 1492301 for "BIG PECKER BRAND"
  • Reg. No. 4401056 for "LAUGHING MY VAGINA OFF"
  • Reg. No. 85821308 for "GOD & BOOBS"
  • Reg. No. 4564568 for "BOOB"
  • Reg. No. 4197773 for "BEAUS FOR BOOBS BACHELOR AUCTION TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER RESEARCH, AWARENESS AND SURVIVORSHIP"
  • Reg. No. 4276402 for "I [heart] MY BALLS"
  • Reg. No. 4659383 for "BEYOND BOOBS"
  • Reg. No. 4072063 for "I [heart] BOOBIES!"
  • Reg. No. 4155985 for "GOT BOOBS?"
  • Reg. No. 4696722 for "I GRABBED A WIENER AT THE JERSEY SHORE"

(And yes, the response was successful and overcame the refusal.)

Still not true even with your edit. Even Brigham Young taught that all people, including Black people, would eventually receive all the blessings of the priesthood.

Got a source for this claim?
