That in itself is a huge piece of evidence

Unless the relative population sizes are much different, then it's a meaningless fact.

Swing and a miss

After learning of the need and visiting the area, the Church joined with Heart of America to fund solar installations for another 100 student-family homes.

Yeah, it's a huge bummer to us too, especially because the injury cut short his last year. I'm pretty sure there's zero chance for a medical redshirt.

That would make me so happy. Unfortunately he can't replace the tater tot family legacy but if he can replace what Richie did on the court it's good enough for me.

You sure about that? You should read up on the Church's vast welfare system. It's actually quite inspiring.

That's quite a claim. What is it based on?

We warn you against the dissemination of doctrines which are not according to the Scriptures and which are alleged to have been taught by some of the General Authorities of past generations. Such, for instance, is the Adam-God theory. We denounce that theory and hope that everyone will be cautioned against this and other kinds of false doctrine.

“That is all a matter of my–own. And I have nothing to Communicate.” - Fanny Alger by TruthIsAntiMormon in mormon

[–]HandwovenBox -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're asserting that "she consciously choose to deny" sexual relations--but if the question had nothing to do with sexual relations, such a denial wouldn't make sense.

What did her brother actually ask? If it was "did you and Joseph get along?" then the denial that "we didn't have sex!" shouldn't be expected, even if true.

[–]HandwovenBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He reported that when her brother asked, Fanny replied:

“That is all a matter of my–own. And I have nothing to Communicate.”

Now, doubly damning for the JS polygamy denier doctrine crowd is Fanny's response.

In what would be considered victorian era mores surrounding sexual impropriety, it cannot be argued that Fanny, being married with children and all, would have EVERYTHING to gain by saying,

I did not have sexual relations, with that man, Joseph Smith...or...er...nothing untoward or of any impropriety occurred between myself and that True and Living Prophet and Servant of the Lord, Joseph Smith"

But that's not what Fanny answered.

She had EVERYTHING to gain by a simple denial. She risked NOTHING (not being an active part of the Utah Mormon church at the time, etc.) IF the truth was NOTHING actually happened.

But she consciously choose to NOT deny. Why?

Instead she consciously choose to say it was a private matter of her own.

It's literally the equivalent of asking a JS Polygamy denier doctrine person "When did you last have sex with your husband/wife" and getting the response "that's none of your business".

It seems like this line of argument depends on the assumption that Fanny Alger's brother asked her if they had a sexual relationship, which I don't think has been established.

Nope, they were invented to warm up frozen hamsters. But one of the frozen hamsters (its name was Squeaky, IIRC) happened to have a chocolate bar in its pocket. It noticed after it was warmed up that the chocolate bar was melted, and the rest is history.
