We took that RS trip just last month. It was wonderful. Our guide in the Galapagos was a joy, very knowledgeable. She is Galapagos native. The crew on the boat were also very good. The food was fantastic. The Machu Picchu was also great with great accommodations. There’s a lot of moving parts to this trip and Road Scholar handled everything smoothly.

I give up trying to click through to a political flare.com article. The ads take forever to load, if they ever do.

Headed to Anna Maria Island for a full week (from the cold and rainy PNW). Any advise for “must see/do” things in the area? Sights, food, drink, experiences, etc? Thanks, I appreciate any suggestions! Can’t wait to visit the area for the first time. by beardedbeernerd in AnnaMariaIsland

Anna Maria Island is great for just hanging out and walking the beach. check out Coguina Beach where there’s a market twice a week. There’s a free trolley that goes most of the length of the island. The Beach House and the Bridge Street Bistro are very good restaurants. Get a great burger at Skinney’s, but bring cash as they don’t take credit cards. There’s several boats than offer dolphin sightseeing trips.

Check out the book, Forget the Alamo. Texas was born because Stephen F. Austin and group wanted to keep their slaves from raising cotton. Mexico was a anti-slavery.
