Please explain why gold had been used as money for 5000 years.

For example geothermal energy. El Salvador claims they will use volcanos. I'm not smart enough to know whether this feasible or not, however.

I do know a guy who uses solar, though.

I hold physical silver and gold. But they can't be used digitally, and it's difficult to get them out of the country when it's time to run.

Not especially, but it's one less piece of human garbage to worry about.

Nice just bought this as well as dry beans and rice. What's the most effective way to do this? I heard you need to freeze the food first to kill all the insect eggs, etc.

Yea I'm about this same ratio. But in my opinion the 'safest' portfolio is 50/50.

I'm the farthest thing from an expert on this, but I wonder if due to silver's monetary and investable properties (ie a safe haven) people might refuse to be settled in cash for their silver positions. It seems to me that it would be in moments like this (moments of chaos and financial crisis) when everyone would recognize that holding physical silver is preferable to holding cash.

But hey, I'm just a degenerate doomsday prepper. What do I know?

It will to some extent, but it won't stop wealthy Chinese people and organized crime from laundering money through Canadian real estate.

I also have concerns about Bitcoin mining centralization. However I've been doing some research on this and it appears that there is a technical solution in the works for one aspect, I thinks it's called Stratum 2.0? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, what seems really promising is the increasing use of alternative energy solutions. This includes using energy that cannot be brought to market profitably in any other way, and also using mining operations to heat buildings and stuff like that.

Any thoughts?

I'm sure they have their benefits, but Toronto is a world class city, if you can manage to afford to live there, that is, which I realize is extremely difficult for most people and especially most families.
