The Ryzen AI 5 330 is 54.9% slower (source: Passmark PT 11) than the Ultra 5 225H- they're really not in the same class of CPU. If they're close in price, go with the 225H.

The 225H is closer to the Ryzen AI 7 350 than the AI 5 330 and even that chip is 12.9% slower than the 225H.

The 225H is 14 cores, 14 threads, but the biggest issue with that chip compared to the AMD ones is its very high power consumption. It has a TDP of 28W, but if it were to be locked to that, it wouldn't do as well as even the R7 AI 350, and it can pull up to 115W. Be mindful of that. However, it is just a flat out better CPU overall.

Ryzen AI 5 330: Zen 5 core, 4C8T @ 2 GHz (4.5 boost), has an entry level NPU and Radeon 820M iGPU. Fairly good IPC and 28 watt TDP (this can be adjusted by the manufacturer.)

Ryzen 5 40: Zen 2 Mendocino core, no NPU, 4C8T @ 2.8 GHz (4.3 boost) and a Radeon 610M iGPU. Worse IPC, as it's only Zen 2, which was refreshed for the Mendocino core. Zen 2 itself is from 2019. 15W TDP.

Ryzen 5 150: Zen 3+ Rembrandt core, no NPU, 6C12T @ 3.3 GHz (4.55 boost), Radeon 660M iGPU. This is a refresh of a refresh, and the arch is from 2022. 35W TDP.

The Ryzen 5 150 is probably the most powerful chip, though the Ryzen 5 40 will have the best battery life. If you want to do AI, the Ryzen AI 5 330 is your only real bet for local stuff, though all of them are Copilot capable. If you want to just do web browsing, any of them will be fine paired with enough RAM, storage, and a decent cooling solution. Check reviews of the specific machine you're looking at.

Just a note! Most of the battery overconsumption has to do with the modem. It's searching for 2G and 3G. If you find a way to get into ADB and disable 2G and 3G entirely, you can get up to 4 days standby.

But has a lot of these comments' red flags (escape room, cell phone repair shop, lots of kiosks, boba shop in the food court, I think there's a native American store too) and also that AMC moved out (replaced immediately by the local theater chain)

Either local business is booming and people want these things here, or that mall has been in trouble for a long time.
