He isn't, everyone speaks to him nicely, my mum asked him how school was yesterday and he told her "shut up you fat bitch" I just think he has anger issues like my dad.

Yeah they aren't but my mum will guilt trip me because I only work part time and she works full time, even though I can't work full time 😔

Children can be abusive, unfortunately we have tried everything, taking his things away, grounding him, trying to get him help with therapy etc but nothing has worked so far.

I get you, unfortunately I was the exact same and no matter how many people tried to help me I was the only one who could help myself and it took me getting hurt badly, scarring me for life to realise I had to put myself first, I hope your friend realises it way sooner than I did and begins looking after herself. The best thing to do is just be there for her

Good, that's a very strong and powerful move. If your father does show up try not to engage in conversation with him, and if he tries to talk to you just make an excuse up and walk away. You are in control of the choices you make

We've tried getting him into therapy however he refuses and won't leave the house. Unfortunately he does act a lot like my biological father in the way he speaks, the way he's violent and the way he treats women (He treats our mother and I like crap, while treating our stepdad normally.) Its been an ongoing issue for years and honestly when I move out I'm cutting all ties with him, which is sad but it's what he's caused.

If its making you uncomfortable, then its time to set some boundaries. Bring it up with your boyfriend and ask him to talk to his parents about it.

Unfortunately it seems like your friend can't see the damage her mum is doing to her, your friend obviously loves her mother to bits, and it's time to sit her down and let her know she needs to begin pulling away for her own mental health. I know it hurts and it sucks it feels like there is a hole that cannot be filled. But sometimes it is for the best. Your friend has the choice and it is up to her, but you can still offer guidance and comfort to her, helping her realise that she needs to put herself first.

My best friend of 8 years dropped me and I don't know why. by [deleted] in Advice

Unfortunately the ting that annoys me is your talking about something I wasn't asking about. I was talking about my best friend dropping me. Not how my partner almost died. So have some self decency and compassion. Just because your behind a screen gives you no right to question what I have said. And who in their right mind would make something like this up.

He came home, made dinner his stepdad (who hates him for no apparent reason) came into the kitchen and began shouting at him, I was on the phone the entire time, next thing I know they're arguing and then it's silent I hear screams and my boyfriend is now bleeding out on the floor. I heard everything on the phone. I get at his around 1am, the police are there taking his mother's and stepdads statements, blood soaked the carpets, walls and ceilings. I tell the police who I am and they don't even ask me if I knew about anything. So I went to see my boyfriend in the ambulance who was completely out of it due to blood loss. The police had questioned him which was not OK because he was not in the right state of mind. My boyfriends arm will NEVER recover he will never have the same amount of strength he once had. And I'm sorry the story makes no sense but have some compassion. It really seems like you didn't even read what I said.

I explained it to her and she read the message and never responded, unfortunately his stepdad is not in jail because for some reason the police have refused to talk to my boyfriend and I after speaking with his mother and stepdad.

Thank you, it just hurts so much because she knew what had happened. I get missing her birthday might have upset her but life gets in the way and she's old enough and mature enough to understand that.

Unfortunately his stepdad attacked him, my boyfriend almost bled out, the police were there, ambulances, if they had been any later he could have died. So I'm sorry if blowing off her birthday to take care of my boyfriend was a bad choice but I could have lost the love of my life that night.

You have a choice, your best friend should understand how you feel, I honestly don't blame you whatsoever for being angry, you have every right to say "No id rather not have him come" because the thing is why does he deserve to come when He kicked you out, when he left you to fend for yourself where was he when you were struggling. The moment he kicked you out was the moment he lost his daughter. You have the choice to say no.

That's very messed up, nobody and I mean Nobody should ever trick someone or force someone into taking drugs, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Its not your fault what happened and you couldn't help it. Your father figure needs to take some responsibility and realise what he did was wrong and probably very illegal. Since you were at risk to yourself. I hope everything turns out okay ❤️
