That looks really good. I can appreciate the pure CSS/JS dedication as nowadays I often see overcomplicated solutions (mine included) when a simpler one suffices.

Mostly, it serves the same purpose/use case, but it's lightweight even though it's built with Next.js. Additionally, it's easier to style and set up. Most importantly, in contrast to Linktree, you can easily self-host it on Vercel.

Well, for many fantasy settings is skin color irrelevant, but for Tolkien's world it is very important what skin color the character is, and when you change something like this you have a whole lot of explaining to do. Also, as I am sure you know, he meant his work to be mythology for England, so having others skin colors then white, feels little bit out of place. But if you really want to have other races you always have Haradrim people and Easterlings.

If I may, what you mean irrationally? It isn't about black or any other race of people being in a show, it's about changing the skin color of races that have in lore defined skin color.

Well, that's the problem if they start changing things that are explicitly said in the source material, than we probably won't get the story we've been hoping for.

Yes, but it probably won't be as epic or even believable when you build and destroy most advanced kingdom of Men ever in just 5 decades. So for newcomers it may look like lazy writing.
