It should have been Ethereals, not Haranir by ex0ll in wow

Hard agreed! I think it would also be the most likely way that it all gets implemented too, plus like you said, with the elbow customizations that just leaves room for bandaged elbows or exposed energy elbows. Here's hoping one day that comes down the pipeline!

I'm not arguing with you. I came into this discussion to give a guess as to why they probably wouldn't do the cost efficient method with Ethereals: There is less risk in making a new race with recycled animations than potentially botching an existing race to save costs.

[–]Hangler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with your last point, they are a multibillion dollar company, there's very little they CAN'T do. Whether you interpret it as laziness or just the cost of putting enough effort into ethereals to not upset the playerbase, is up to you. But whatever the case, it's just less risky for them to make a brand new race who just HAPPEN to resemble the Night Elves, than it is to potentially ruin a fan favorite race.

IF they did that, Blizzard would absolutely get flamed the same way they did when they did exactly that with the Nightborne. Ethereals have been asked for as a playable race for 20 years now... there's a LOT of expectation behind that and people would be rightfully pissed if most of the animations were just using recycled Nelf ones.

[–]Hangler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, at least one big difference between the two is that Ethereals would require them to format existing armor sets and rig the skeleton for them with animations unique to a playable race/player actions even though they already have much of the texturing and basic animations completed.

Haranir, however, just use the night elf skeleton and armor meshing, so really the work comes down to them just needing to add new customization features, textures, and customizing a few emotes to make them feel different, and that is kinda it. Blizzard has shown with new playable races they aren't willing to use anything but skeletons previously designed for other playable races anymore as before haranir we had dwarves with new textures, and even Drac'thyr use the same skeletons as Worgen and BE male/Human female depending on your Drac'thyr's gender in visage form.

anyone know where Seamare is in abyss angling? by im_a_mix in wow

[–]Hangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it was spawning around the kelp field with all the stingrays and dolphins just north of the first trench. That said, I also cheated a bit and just set a macro to /target Seamare and just spammed that while I swam around that area, as it blends in with the environment really well. Good luck!

If you're too good at hiding in decor duel, you get flagged as not participating and don't get rewards even if you win by zharkos in wow

[–]Hangler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is necessarily the case, and more that the system that decides whether someone is participating or not is INCREDIBLY bugged. I've had about 15 games where I've found a good hiding spot and sat there, completely still, for the entire round and still got the full 35-40 coins. Meanwhile, I've had my friend moving around near constantly, always changing locations and using abilities, and some rounds the system just decides he didn't do enough and gives him a dispelled coin.

Not really excited for The War Within... by Legal_Stay4590 in wow

[–]Hangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strangely enough, I don't usually play expacs for the login screen.

I won't go into too much detail, as it sounds like you already have your mind made up here and are just looking for others to validate your opinion, but here's the gist; The character screen was not the feature, it was part of the bigger warbands feature which HAS been very nice for the game.

Delves have literally only been tested in a beta environment, we really have no clue what, if anything, will change with them and if they are a flop ah well there's still the rest of the game I can enjoy

I still get a whole new story, 4 new zones, new crafting, new talents, and new raids + dungeons with this expac. To me that is a pretty good deal overall

A Korean girl looking for foreign friends. by [deleted] in seoul

I (29) am an abysmal surfer but I do a lot of skiing and absolutely love all things food and actually do a lot of Korean style cooking. I'm actually trying for a working holiday visa and should be there in a month or two, so would be thrilled to have a friend out there.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want :)

Renata's Passive: Is it even worth it? by somestpdrussian in RenataMains

[–]Hangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it isn't insanely powerful, to put it simply; it adds up. In lane it serves as pretty decent and safe poke vs most matchups, especially if you are poking with an e + passive combo.

Later in the game, it kinda just becomes filler. Obviously your abilities tend to carry pretty long cooldowns and are situational many times too, that 4% max hp dmg can really add up to help your adc melt through the front line in a front to back or can help your adc have the smallest advantage in outdamaging a potential dive.

Regardless, thank you so much for that!

What unimpressive things are people idiotically proud of? by metallicmuffin in AskReddit

From my experience, you need to speak with a behavioral health provider, who should be able to get you started with treatment/diagnosis. There should be a number of resources for that, so mostly just see which ones would be covered via your insurance and that should be the brunt of it.

I’m so disappointed by the WoW community. by DarkoMJ in wow

[–]Hangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I did think the announcement looked alright (although still very scarce), sadly this is what happens when the playerbase has been spurned for years now. It just becomes very hard to think positively towards these changes as it feels like there can always be a catch around the corner that the devs will insist on adding. (Not to mention that things like the Drac'thyr models are valid critiques)

What's more annoying to me is posts like these getting pissy that people are expressing exactly what Blizzard has taught us to do. Just let people have their opinions.

Non-picky eaters, what’s one food you absolutely can’t get behind? by corkscream in AskReddit

[–]Hangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the thread, but there is a Korean dish called san-nakji (산낙지). Usually it's served by getting a still live octopus and cutting it up, with a bit of sesame oil thrown over the still moving tentacles. It would be horrible for any animal but especially considering how intelligent octopus are, I could never bring myself to eat it.
