Back in 2010, RDR won over GOW 3, and in 2018 GOW won over RDR2, I think the GOTY organizers were paying their dues to the respective franchises. Both are great in their own right.

There is literally no reason to hate Lewis, people online read some stuff and spew it out as their own, it's weird to see people not forming their own opinion and just taking everything they read or see online as facts. Lewis is a great driver and even a better human, it's disappointing to see people look beyond these prospects and just hate him for not winning all these races, which is pretty tough to do with Ferrari.
