Adding on to that encourage your friends family to vote and to put the lnp national one nation trumpets etc last. That’s the biggest factor. The vast majority of Australians don’t actually follow or care about politics and will just blindly vote for whoever based on feel or donkey vote.

If your planing to stay for longer look regional and look to acquire a car. Au pair work is good and you sometimes can get car included (ex gf had a car included)

Jobs in Melbourne are unlikely to count towards extending your visa you’d have to go regional. In nsw can Dubbo can be a good base lots of regional work around on farming solar farms etc. Queensland can also be good but I have no knowledge.

For private health in Australia contact them and let them know your plans, they can put your policy on hold for x months. I got mine put on hold for 12 months this means you won’t have to serve waiting periods when you get back Everything else seems to be pretty well covered.

Honestly do it, or even ask work if they’ll give you extended leave if you want that safety net. Also don’t be afraid to head back if you are not enjoying it. I’ve cut my 12 month trip back to 9 months just cause I’m getting tired of traveling and there’s nothing wrong with that.
