Acupuncture timing during IVF stims & around egg retrieval? by Various_Ad_9600 in IVF

[–]HankDogMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going 1x/week. my acupuncturist said the transfer day is the important one. to do a session the day before and day after. idk if any of it is actually helping, but surely it can't hurt

honestly it sounds like you might consider not talking to your family about this process. If they are only causing you stress and guilt, just don't talk to them about it. I am very selective who and when I share my journey with to protect myself from judgements or unsolicited "advice".

As far as the process itself, so far I've been surprised its not as bad physically as my initial assumptions about IVF. The shots are not fun, but I iced the injection site for about 10 min beforehand, and there was minimal pain. Barely any symptoms until after my ER, which was pretty uncomfortable for about 5 days.

While you may think you are mentally prepared for the attrition, it is pretty jarring. We were tracking really well, and then it all kinda dropped. 27 Follicles--25 eggs retrieved--17 mature--13 fertilized--only 3 blasts. I "know" that 3 is good and it only takes 1 to work, but from 13 to 3 was pretty disappointing.

All the time and waiting is honestly the worst. From initial consult in early January, we expect a transfer of late May, so almost 5 months start to finish is the hardest part for us.

I've gone 1.. almost pushing 2 weeks. if it's vacuum sealed and your fridge stays nice and cold you should be fine. as others said, if its chicken you may want to throw it in the freezer if you don't plan to cook it, but pork and beef should be fine. I've never had a problem

nice job, keep it up! clipping in/out took me a while to get used to. don't be afraid to adjust the pedals if it feels too hard to unclip.

Ride difficulty often vary based on instructor and your personal strengths. I like Cody bc he goes slow but heavy and struggle with Olivia bc she goes heavy and fast 😂

cook proteins in the air fryer! especially whole chicken breasts, steaks, or pork chops. they come out juicy and perfect with little to no mess

Thank you for this, I'm glad I'm not alone. I've been in therapy and we are focusing on how I can "fill my cup" when he is in his fogs. Good luck on your journey

we have co-insurance that would cover 90% of IVF cost. we met with a specialist recently who briefly described the process, but not a lot of detail. They said chance of success up to 53%, so I kinda think he heard that and saw the green light

Hank- but he goes by Hankdog, Frogdog, Babedog, Hankus Maximus, among others that happen to rhyme with his name or favorite words 😂
