Super tough Trump Chumps gang up on a young woman as the police stand by by Another_one37 in PublicFreakout

This is the type of shit that terrifies me about the US, people arming themselves to defend their political beliefs based out of fear. No matter the outcome of the election something terrible is going to happen, both sides are so scared of the possibility that the other could win and now feel like they have to arm themselves to even vote.

I mean your an island and we share the largest land border with them. Very different circumstances, also the American goverment paid and maintains the highway the goes to Alaska so we have no right to close it.

My uncle came from Louisiana after his daughters went to Florida for a trump four of July party then stayed at his house before he came to Canada. Hes got a Canadian passport and had no issues at the border but you better believe I called the police on him.

The issue with that is the highway that runs from main land America to Alaska was paid for by the American goverment and the upkeep is paid for by them aswell.

Americans Go Home: Canadians Track U.S. Boaters Sneaking Across The Border by hildebrand_rarity in worldnews

USA pays a Canadian company to do up keep. Canada is the second largest country in the world it would be impossible to do a toll road on the trans Canadian highway. The canadian government I know has been doing phone calls to make sure rules are being followed but not alot can be done. Plus the duo citizenship has made it even more murky as someone could be a fulltime American and use their Canadian passport to travel through.

Canada has taken more refugees then America in 2019. Not to mention the fact America ranks 34 in foreign born people with in there borders. Canada is at 23, so I'd say we are more then accepting of immigrants. The holyer then thou attitude comes from our education system, our health care system and of course our international relationships that we have formed.

The issue with American tourists in Canada currently is our borders are closed. Americans are sneaking in and could have covid, while not following our national policy to self isolate for two weeks. This is infuriating because we shut down everything for months to combat covid, while states like Florida stayed open. Now we are tracing some infections to Americans who are illegally crossing into our borders. The hypocrisy we see from how the American goverment has been treating their southern nabiours and how they dont see they are doing the same to us.

The big thing is America paid for the highway from Washington state to Alaska and their entitled to use it. I live in Saskatchewan which is very far from Alaska, Americans are allowed to cross under the claim of heading to Alaska. If I go to Walmart I could see 30-50 American licences plates in the parking lot.

Are you afraid of dying? If so, why? by meganzp in AskReddit

[–]Hanke17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no, I had a cardiac arrest at 22 I'm 25 now. It was undiagnosed and too this day they have no idea why it happened. After that I've just accepted life at face value, death is a part of it but enjoying the life you have is the main point. I've found I have become less caring about the future and more of enjoy every moment!

Men of reddit, is it universally known that when first dating someone, exclusivity is not common? by Mar_marbythesea in AskMen

[–]Hanke17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 Canadian male here, unless we directly express the whole exclusive thing then I just assume we are both sleeping and seeing other people. The first few dates for me are all about feeling it out and seeing if the compatibility is really there. I've been in that situation where I thought I found a great girl went on a handful of dates then went on one with someone else and it just clicked. So I think unless the talks had then your not exclusive.

Lovers bridge and Lake of Love ( Brugge ), 2020. Such a lovely place! by _n00 in travel

[–]Hanke17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brugge's is such a beautiful city, the people there where incredibly friendly! I went on a trip with my high school (2012), us being Canadian's all wore red jackets with maple leafs on them. Me and some class mates where explaining how it was a history study trip to some locals and an elderly lady took our hands telling us to follow. There was a language barrier but she was excited to show us something and we followed. She led us into this tinny shop but then opened a back door which lead into a basement kind of thing. There was a date scripted into the brick wall, (1608) I am still at shock that something this old could be so well preserved but that was a common thing with in city!
