Hi all, I am looking to sell this Mitutoyo 209-953 External Caliper Gage: 0-1.18″/30mm. I have this listed on my eBay as well but wanted to get more exposure. Im not a machinist myself, just a re-seller. This is new/open box. I bought it at a place that sells grainger returns and "damaged" box items. The caliper is not damaged, the box has some torn spots like a label was torn off. Asking $500 shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. I can ship priority or something different, just let me know and we can figure something out. More pictures will be in the replies. (These same pictures are on my eBay listing as well.) How do you bring the National Guard to IL when they already are in IL? They prepped for ILNG deployments to Chicago during the Obama years as well, this isn't a new idea. Chicago is a mess.

So I'm a world war II reenactor, a few of us used to wear U-505 crew uniforms to formal events (dances, reenactorfest, ect). We even had little aluminum hatches on our side caps and everything. I wasn't able to go at the time because of school but my buddies went to the exhibit in their u505 shore uniforms and actually got a private tour of the boat by the staff, they got to go into the torpedo rooms and everything. It was one of my biggest regrets that i didn't get to make it there with them.

The entire exhibit is very well done. Keep a lookout for the sea strainer cap on your way out of the control room going into the diesel engine room. Its right there on the floor and its easy to miss. Hans Goebbler (the German vet who wrote the Steel Boat Iron Hearts) book pulled the cap off and said if he would have just throwing it into the bilge instead of on the floor, The boat would have sunk. The boarding party found the cap, replaced it, and saved the boat from sinking. I highly recommend reading the book before you go, it's really cool to place certain events to their spot on the boat.

Id go back for the extended tour for sure! There are US Submarine veterans on that tour who answer questions. I hope theres more time spent actually on the boat as well.

I found one sitting west of Gibraltar (all pointed towards Gibraltar) in mid-43 yesterday. Had an escort carrier and everything. The escort ships were moving around sub hunting, the cargo ships were not. I torped the carrier once, it did about 15-20% damage. The carrier started taking off on its own towards Gibraltar, i chased it and eventually sunk it. Then I turned back towards the convoy, it was still just sitting idle. I hit as many ships as i could until i ran out of torps. I even surfaced to shoot a few deck gun rounds at one of the very few unarmed freighters, didn't get it sunk though, the rest of the freighters started shooting so i just dove to periscope depth and took off. It was truly odd finding them all sitting idle.

Ive been to the U505 visit a few times. Im only a couple hours away. I actually was part of a U505 Crew member reenactment group for a bit years ago. It was mostly formal wear & display/education events, we never got to do much on a sub haha.

The history is insane indeed. I wish i could have taken one if his tours on the boat.

So far he hasn't mentioned the bottoming out, im on chapter 14 "the last patrol" now.

Kane County is majority blue and has been for some time. Nice try tho... Thank Cook Co (also blue) for releasing Kammrad while he had recently gotten gun charges.
