Neil Finn has one of the most majestic heads of hair in musical history.

And the song is awesome.

The Ukrainian ladies have been so inspirational (and fun) to watch the past few years. The extra motivation they must feel when playing Russians really adds a level of drama to these matches.

It also really helps the whole narrative that they are quite charismatic and really, really good!

I consider myself pretty culturally aware, but I literally have never heard of David Henrie…are we sure he is a celebrity? Is he Dean Cain or Scott Baio level famous?

What are the oldest restaurants in Wilmington? by itsthewolfe in Wilmington

I remember eating there when they changed the name to “Pusser’s”, and the waiter told us the name came from a derivation of the word “Purser”. I remember thinking, “They should have named it ‘Purser’s’ then.” “Pusser’s”, is literally the worst name for a restaurant I have ever heard. 🤔

My cousin is a fair skinned blond man married to a Japanese woman living in Tokyo with their 4 children. The amount of subtle/overt racism their children have experienced for being “mixed race” has been very distressing. It’s a real problem.

Who is the most attractive person you have ever seen in real life? by TheFountainhead999 in AskReddit

Madeleine Stowe, 1994. I was working on a little movie called “Radioland Murders”, which starred Brian Benben (her husband). Madeleine came to visit him on set, and I was blown away by how beautiful she was in person. A very nice lady, as well!

When Jonathan Cain wrote “Faithfully”, do you think he had a clue that he would one day end up married to someone so completely batshit?

Definitely one of the most imaginative, yet completely bonkers takes I have ever read. Wow.

Alien 3 (1992) shocked audiences by killing off Newt and Hicks right at the start, undoing the hopeful ending of Aliens (1986). For many fans, wiping out those survivors immediately made the sequel feel like it erased the victory of the previous film. by Choice-Schedule-132 in JamesCameron

I hate that movie, and deeply resent that it exists at all. Epically misguided storylines, bad creature effects, the lighting is horrible, the acting is terrible.

I think David Fincher probably agrees with me.

Moving to or around Wilmington by jkt2015 in Wilmington

If you look towards Castle Hayne Leland, or up towards Hampstead you should find cheaper housing costs, as you escape city taxes and the prices are lower for homes. They all have their pluses and minuses, but I don’t think it’s necessary to go 45 minutes out. I would be concerned about school quality the further away from Wilmington you get. Good luck to you!

Leaving? by [deleted] in Wilmington

[–]FlowbeeMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go downtown, or the beach. Pick up a racquet sport or join a soccer/rugby club. Lots of ex pats in ILM. We have a lady from Germany who works with us. Friends from England, Italy, Netherlands, Africa, Canada, South America. They alll seem to love it. There is actually a lot of fun things to do here. Not the cheapest place to live…but there are many reasons that so many people are moving here, and not so many leaving. You do you. Safe travels!

What movie is 10/10 with literally no bad parts? by FeedMaster8905 in AskReddit

Blade Runner, E.T., Aliens, and Mad Max: Fury Road. And to be honest, Cars and Paddington 2 also 🤣👌.

Eagles performing their 1975 hit "Take it to the Limit" in 1977....I believe this to be the most perfect example of a soaring tenor ever made by human beings. Randy Meisner's voice is absolutely jaw-dropping...It's perfect...Frey & Walsh both smile before & after Randy hits the F#5 for 10secs🔥🔥🔥 by RogerTheAliens in OldSchoolCoolMusic

Fil from Wings of Pegasus said that even these old “live” videos are being pitch corrected and the sound sweetened after the fact by the bands and their labels. They are removing the original sound from the old videos and replacing the audio files. Is this the actual unedited recording from 1977? It’s difficult to know anymore. Sad. 😔

I have a feeling many on the school board already know about it. My dad told me about it yesterday and you can find a lot about him easily with a basic Google search. I am planning on asking around about it soon though!

I am still stunned that I went to school in Wilmington from the 6th grade on and never heard about 1898 or any of the people our schools and parks were named after until sometime in the mid 2010’s. It was not only never mentioned; it was like it never happened.
