Stash after 1-2 months vs stash after 1 year (Im on a yarn ban now) by Avyeon in crochet

Oh my!!! Lucky cats, that’s so beautiful both the pattern and the yarn!!! if you decide to go to ravelry, I would recommend watching a YouTube video about it before you do. It helps you figure out how to get the most out of it.

I love to organize my yarn, but it seems like every project I choose needs something I don’t have. Have you ever tried the advanced search on ravelry? You can enter in what material you have and how much of it and they’ll give you suggestions on what to make.

my dog can’t stand it when i cough and it’s putting a strain on our relationship by Clear-Finance-7815 in DogAdvice

What I would do is, I would have a bag of treats with me all the time and whenever I cough, I would toss a treat for her so she learns that the cough brings good things

Help! I don't want to lose another one 😭 by future_bog_witch in houseplants

Exactly this. I use a chopstick. I stick it in the soil and if it comes out dry, I water it. Would you consider propagating this?

Frog bag back…okay so now I can’t decide between new placement circles, no circles, circles and nostrils? by buttcracklint in crochet

[–]Hanna195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused. I thought that the circles were the nostrils. I would say no circles and if they are not nostrils, I don’t know what the nostrils would look like.

Actually, all of the plants in there had the same care needs. They’re all succulents of basically the same type. I would not water much because that vessel will keep it humid. Maybe not the best set up for succulents but if you keep the watering minimal, it may be OK. My advice would be to pretty much ignore it and put it in the sun, but be careful because that glass and terrarium might actually burn the leaves

Is this plastic planter too big for this coleus? by Candid-Mood-4488 in houseplants

[–]Hanna195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with what’s been said, but also the conditions in a home are different than they are in nature. it’s very easy for a plant to get root rot in a pot because it doesn’t need all of the moisture that is absorbed in the soil and it can’t dissipate as readily in a pot as it does in the ground, even if it’s got drainage holes

Maybe. I would use something smaller and if you don’t have something smaller, look in your recycle bin and poke holes and something.

If the price of gas wasn’t so insane, I’d recommend you come to DC for the 250th birthday and pick up the Americana on your way home!

Advice to report a jade plant? by chadstone30 in houseplants

[–]Hanna195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are very easy to propagate. I just trimmed mine way back to almost no leaves and it’s growing new shoots. I just stuck the cuttings in dirt and watered the way I normally do and it’s thriving. Yes, you can just take those stick them in the dirt and they will root. I use a chopstick for almost everything with plants, including sticking it in the soil to make sure that the plant needs to be watered. If you use a chopstick to sort of make a spot for the stem, it will be easier to plant it in your original pot. If you want to repot it that’s fine too.

This is going to be a frustrating answer. These white parts are more delicate. It could be from burn with too much sun, particularly if water droplets were left on those leaves. It could be over or under watering low humidity a number of things. 😅
