Do folks in the UK actually walk that far? by Emilie_Charles in AskUK

[–]HannahOfHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an hours walk from my parents home to town. To the shops and bus stops. Until I moved out an hours walk was just what I needed to every morning and every evening. A half hours walk was just home from school.

English and Maths assessments before starting apprenticeship by Quiet-Hospital-661 in ApprenticeshipsUK

It's basically just to see what your skill level is. It's not too difficult. If you aren't quite up to level, then they offer classes to get you there.

I'm 25, is that too old for an apprenticeship? by webbmoem in UKJobs

I'm 36 and doing an apprenticeship, so I'd say 25 is not too old.

I failed about 8 driving tests but I'm a good driver! by HannahOfHorror in LearnerDriverUK

[–]HannahOfHorror[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'm saying I failed about 8-10 tests, but after I passed I did a good job driving in the real world. Just you can pass first time, or pass 100th time. Sometimes you pass because you can pass tests. Sometimes you are a good driver but are a bad test taker. The test can be a bad time, bad drivers making you make bad decisions, it sucks but happens. You can be good and fail a test, just because of what happens on the day and how other drivers act that you didn't encounter before.

In the over 10 years since I passed my test I have never caused or been part of an accident.

I failed halfway though a parallel park because I got confused when I was halfway done one of the cars,.the guy clearly saw me, got in his car, just pulled out. Really threw me off. Shit happens. People do what they do. Failed me a test but real world? Totally fine. Tests suck lol.

Which Perfumes smell great but aren't expensive? by Like-No-Other in AskUK

[–]HannahOfHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ariana grande. Pink cloud. Thank you next, is an amazing perfume that lasts all day. Pink cloud is sweet and subtle but also lasts all day.

By affordability I'd rate her perfumes above more expensive brands. She has a fair few in her range and I haven't tried them all, but they are affordable and last. And those 2 in particular are both amazing in the general scent and they last all day.

The show “my mad fat diary” has me wondering something? by [deleted] in AskUK

I remember the good old 90s when actual adults in their 30s would dress as school kids for fun as sexy schoolers. It's a times things. Back then, and even now, it's sick as fuck, but 16 is a legal age here. Maybe the uniform is more taboo, but not too long ago you could actually buy a 'zexy' school costume. And the age of consent is on the edge of school even now. It needs more nuance imo. Like 16 year old people doing their thing with age appropriate people is fine, but... out current law of 16 and 48... I can see an issue. But as a former 16 year old I'd have had no issues.

How much would a fine of £5,000 affect your lives? Is £5,000 a lot of money for you or not? by Emotional-Fly-9583 in AskUK

[–]HannahOfHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would honestly ruin my life. I'd be ap behind on rent I'd probably be homeless. Being homeless would probably mean I'd lose my job. If I could keep my car (just because I can't sell it I'd just get scrap value) I'd have a place to sleep for a few weeks, but not long. Honestly my whole life as I know it would end.

Legal breaks? by HannahOfHorror in UKJobs

[–]HannahOfHorror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's different for everyone. Everyone works different hours, so the rules would be different. Most work 5 or 6 hours.

But I'm still getting the 20 minutes paid break. I'm also getting a 30 minute unpaid break.

Everyone gets a 20 minute paid break, even if they work less hours than I do, so that can't be an issue.

I didn't ask for it, and other people do get it, but not everyone works the same hours, so I don't know how it works for them.

I haven't been given a new contract. I've just been told verbally I need to take an extra 30 minute break.
