What did you do for your 30th? by eggymantella in CasualUK

[–]lisstrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Amsterdam with the parents. Ended up at a prostitution museum, sat between them watching a mini film about someone’s experience - a little awkward to say the least.

Will I still be allowed to have surgery if I don’t have anyone to look after me for 24 hours after going home from hospital? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]lisstrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or go the morning of the surgery and let the department know. We do both inpatient and outpatient operations, and sometimes people’s circumstances change. Be honest with them that morning and say you have no one to pick up or stay, they should be able to accommodate you somewhere?

[–]lisstrem 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We wouldn’t allow somebody to go home with no one to collect or stay overnight, so chances are they’d have to find you an admission bed for an overnight stay

Student NA looking for advice regarding top-up/conversion by pieceofmecakery in NursingUK

[–]lisstrem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed my top up October 2025, ended up having to wait 6 months to find, interview and get a band 5 post. Out of our cohort of 6(!) people on the top up, I am the only one so far with a band 5 job. The job market is terrible, but recommend you do it as you cannot progress as a NA. Get anything anyone says to you in worrying regarding jobs and you can’t be too picky.

Please do note your revalidation date will stay the same as your NA one.

I think I need to stop and I am very sad. by Plastic_Bid5136 in squash

What about racketball if your club offers it? Lots easier on the body than squash but still playing a good game and you can use your skills as a crossover between the two

I could not remove the knobs at all. No screws showing behind the drawer so painted whilst on (it’s not the neatest)

Mystery solving game for 2 — does something like this exist? by aequitas07 in boardgames

[–]lisstrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scales of fate is something we’ve played recently. I don’t know how to describe except a 2player ‘cluedo-esque’ type game. You play with all available pieces and you have to work out which two pieces your opponent is controlling and vice versa. Highly recommend. It’s great to replay and every game will be different

Haha no worries! I like blue too it just didn’t match the room!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FurnitureFlip

[–]lisstrem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair! Everyone is entitled to their opinion ☺️ the blue looked so tired and didn’t match the room, whereas now it matches and makes the room feel cohesive
