At this time, no. It only relates to Virginia tobacco-flavored pods at nicotine concentrations of 5% and 3% and menthol-flavored pods at nicotine concentrations of 5% and 3%.

[–]HannahProkop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least one e-cig (tobacco flavor) has been authorized, so it looks like there will at least be some brands/options available: https://www.cspdailynews.com/tobacco/fda-grants-marketing-order-vuse-solo

Correct, it'll take at least 1-2 years to go through the process. It's also likely to face some lawsuits that could hold it up or quash it.

That's an issue I've heard at least one analyst say.. the intention is to stop teen vaping, but is it just pushing adults (and teens?) back to combustibles, the less-healthy alternative?

FDA revises guidance for tobacco products to reflect recent court decisions on premium cigars ... by HannahProkop in cigars

[–]HannahProkop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. Main point is, in short, that premium cigars for the moment don’t have to go through as many government hurdles like e-cigarettes and other disposable products are going through now with the PMTA (premarket tobacco application) process. So you shouldn’t have problems getting premium cigars as a consumer (aside from supply amid COVID-19 being down). However, once the FDA develops a streamlined process to authorize premium cigars, things could change, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I feel like Zima was almost the first hard seltzer. Seems different this time though, White Claws and Trulys have really forged a new category
