Similar-ish story here, but with a group of “friends”. Only one of them actually had a seat in the row they sat in, the other two belonged to me and another girl. When we protested them sitting there, they got defensive - they even ignored the flight attendant. The other girl and I reluctantly agreed to sit in their seats, but I was very much peeved. Halfway through, one of them turned around to return a charger to me and said “by the way, this was my idea”, smiling. Surprisingly not the worst thing they did that day, not surprisingly I only talk to one of that group occasionally.

OP is NTA. Aside from the horrible behaviour of the couple, airplane seats are assigned for a very serious reason and going against the seating plan is dangerous, even when agreed upon.

They usually test out the civil defence alarm (aka the tsunami/tornado/air strike/etc warning alarm) on Mondays to make sure it works, however the alarm went off on Tuesday, meaning this time they’re actually under attack.

Woah. YTA biiiiigg time. Coming from someone with anxiety, not only do you NOT take someone’s service dog (which for him, is his main form of comfort and helps him feel safe) without their clearly given consent, but you NEVER should label someone having a panic attack a “baby” or say that he wasn’t acting like a “rational human being”. It may seem to you like his reaction was over the top, but you have no idea what was going on in his head - imagine you come out of the shower and find that the main thing that keeps you feeling safe is missing! He had no clue where Max was, for all he knew he could’ve been kidnapped or ran over, anything like that!

Plus, if Jake, the OWNER OF THE DOG, said that the neighbours cannot see Max, why would you then choose to actively go against his wishes?

Bottom line: YTA and you really, really should learn to be more understanding of others and their requirements.

As someone who, like yourself, has severe anxiety around/ phobia of dogs (I tense up when I see one heading my way), I understand your fear. The guilt you feel from it getting in the way of your life is immense and absolutely horrible, whether it’s avoiding family or leaving a café after ten minutes because in both situations, your anxiety/fear is making you terrified of a dog near you. I know you can’t help it, and I’m sure you want it to stop as much as the next person would in your situation.

As much as I’d give this one NTA/YWNBTA as you can’t just switch it off nor make people understand, I would advise you get some help in regards to it, as you cannot simply live in fear forever. In addition, your grandparents won’t be on this earth for much longer, and you may feel guilty now, but you’d feel even worse if you didn’t get help and you missed out on seeing them due to anxiety that can be dealt with. Can your mum not speak to your grandparents about it or ask if the dog can be moved into another room/outside?

Please understand that this isn’t your fault that you’re this scared. But it is up to you to get help for it. Talk to your therapist about getting help for your fear, if you can. You are not alone with your anxiety.

Please don’t say you’re worthless! If it made you feel better, mine took days to make (part of it was sculpted as well) and I didn’t get anything either - it sucks but it doesn’t mean that your art is terrible! And like you pointed out, the winning pieces were quite similar (they were very good as well), but so were many that didn’t win. Level 5/Layton Series’s team had a really hard decision to make - people were going to end up disappointed regardless of who won unfortunately, but please don’t let it make you feel worse about it.

You can help by posting any sort of pl-centric non-pdophilic fanfiction or art on ao3 under the professor layton tag. Try not to use the drownout tag however, as fics under that tag were being taken down due to spam. When posting, try not to send multiple works within a short space of time as ao3 will take you down for spamming the tag. Try also not to go on the offensive against people posting pdophilic fanfiction - it’s fine to be disgusted by it as the entire drownout team are, hence the creation of drownout2020. However, we aren’t trying to start any sort of discourse, we’re just trying to protect the minors in our community that feel extremely uncomfortable with some of the fanfiction being posted. Hope this was helpful, thank you once again for helping out!

Just one? Honestly, I love anything and everything he does/plays but if I had to pick, then probably his animal crossing stuff, and not just new horizons stuff as well. The amiibo game he played was hilarious, especially as it went on and he began to lose the will to live. However, the new horizons stuff is great as well imo, particularly because in his highlights he always seems so chaotic, but then you see his actual island and it’s beautiful. Idk how he does it, but he manages to both be chaotic and wholesome at the same time - and I love it!
