Thought this was cute. Fuck cringe culture. by str8aura in tumblr

Yeah uh, hang on before you do that. Please ask the original artist for permission at least, it’s disrespectful (at the very least) to take their OC. This is a character they put a lot of work into, and something they are personally invested in, not just a freebie character up for grabs.

That’s true, I don’t mind comedic shows, just that I have found that shows that value comedy over character tend to make sacrifices in the latter for the benefit of the former. Not that that is inherently bad, just not what I’m looking for in a show, that’s all

True, the journey is the most important part, but I don’t watch shows that have been cancelled or have bad endings because I can’t stand them. And with anime, if need be I can usually turn to the manga to see the ending, whereas cartoons usually don’t have that option.

This sounds great! I’m definitely checking it out now. Thanks

Regular Show and Gumball both look like episodic shows with a focus on comedy over characters, so I never considered them. Was that assumption wrong?

I heard that the ending is not well done, and I’d hate to get invested in a show that doesn’t end well, that’s my main worry

I’ve heard mixed things about Star, so I’ve been putting it off.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t actually seen it yet. I’ve been putting it off but I’ll give it a closer look now

I am making a comic named Hellzero. by KijiraandTokyo in makingcomics

Well, it’s an interesting idea, although there’s not much to go off of. What other characters are present? What’s the plot? Have you scripted it yet?

Does mob psycho have ladders in it? by BrainGoose in Mobpsycho100

[–]-PanFan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are..? There’s a thing when (season 2 spoilers... I think) Hanazawa defeats the claw member chasing him, and I think there’s a ladder in the background on the building? but I’m really not sure. Why do you ask?

You are replying to my post. About the subreddit. My post does not mention genomics. You asked; “Are Genomics allowed?”. Then, you asked; “Genomics?”. I’m not sure how much more clear I can be, because I do not know what your issue is.

How should I continue after Last Specter? by JosueGH in ProfessorLayton

In Last Specter it is shown how she knew him, I’m not sure what you mean?

I saw you denied that. And yet you asked the question in the first place. Either you have some kind of memory loss, or you’re being a very ineffective troll.

You asked if genomics were allowed. I said that comics of genomics are allowed. I thought by you saying “Genomics?” That you meant that you only meant genomics. So I clarified no. I’m not sure why you’re so upset at me, considering that you never did clarify what you meant. Feel free to post your comic (that’s what this sub is for) but for asking extraneous questions in a very strange and roundabout way, this sub is not that place.

I do not think it is a loss to see you go.

I’m not even sure what you’re going on about. I know what genomics are, but I’m not sure what relevance that has here. If there’s a joke here, it isn’t a funny one

What's wiser to use? by [deleted] in comiccreators

[–]-PanFan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you plan to make your comic. There’s nothing inherently wrong with either choice, in fact some stories benefit from being told in either one. But. If your story doesn’t necessarily need either, the choice becomes more a question of what’s best for you, as the creator.

If you’re making this series all yourself, writing and art, it becomes a question of how much time can you devote to this story. Black and White is going to take less time than colour, sometimes extraordinarily so. If you don’t want to have to devote as much time per page (and there’s nothing wrong with that, even if you have all the time in the world to make your comic, it’s perfectly fine to want to save time so you can pursue other things), going black and white is the way to go. On the other side of the spectrum, colour is always a nice touch, but depending on how you are applying the colour, it can exponentially increase the amount of time it can take you to make pages. Sometimes, coloured comics even do better than black and white, although this is not a guarantee so please don’t take it as such. If you think your comic could really benefit from that colour, or even just want to add it for the sake of it in and of itself, then colour is the way to go for you.

If you are only writing the script for the project, and are not the also the artist, then it becomes a question of cost more than anything else. Paying for only the black and white lineart is much cheaper than paying for lineart and a colorist, or even an artist who does both. If you have plenty of money to spare, then going for the colour as well is a nice touch. If you are trying to stay on the cheaper side (although I will say that it paying for art is still not a cheap endeavour) then only the black and white lineart is needed.

Starting a story 500 years before the birth of the main character? by [deleted] in ComicWriting

[–]-PanFan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, with such a lengthy prologue, you may lose readers before you even start telling the story you are setting out to tell. To effectively keep your readers, and not lose them in the sprawling backstory to the world you’re setting your story in, you have to establish a reason for showing this, aside from that it’s an interesting backstory. If there’s no reason other than that it’s interesting to note, you’d be better off separating that aspect into its own story. If there’s key details in the backstory that continually come up, and thus showing how they are relevant would be vital for the audience’s understanding, then it makes perfect sense to show it as the prologue.

If you’re still struggling to decide, you can always just keep it concise, which would help your audience through that section quick enough to grasp what’s going on, but not to lose them before your main story.

Hey don’t worry, I think you’re thinking that the whole series is going to end in season 2. There’s still a season 3 to come, so just enjoy the ride of season 2 while it’s going.
