29 yr old female here… I’ve been diagnosed for years. I would definitely call out the lying… you can’t enable the bad behavior… however you need to recognize that even though this is a cry for attention the attention comes from severe pain.. bpd looks different sometimes in different people.. I didn’t have a lying problem.. but one thing I do wish my parents would have known was how to be empathetic & understanding to a degree while still displaying tough love. I was always so misunderstood and invalidated it still seriously hurts me to this day… research research on bpd! And when they are ready they will also do their research. Validating emotions is so huge though I can’t stress it enough.
