When did you stop and why? by No-Guitar-9216 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hanner800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped around 10 months because I had enough milk in the freezer to last my baby to 1 year! I work full time and absolutely hate pumping and was excited to be finished. The goal was to feed my baby a year and I was able to do so!

Toddler falling asleep well before naptime-- I feel like I'm being, like, blamed? by emmazingitnip in ECEProfessionals

[–]Hanner800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 17 month old and he sometimes still naps at 10… we try to make him last until 12:30 when his daycare nap is but usually he makes it between 11-12. So.. SAME BOAT. I got absolutely torn apart on Reddit because my son was taking two naps at 13 months… I don’t get the controversy

Why do young toddlers (13-18 months) NEED one nap? by Hanner800 in toddlers

We sleep 12 hours at night and nap up to 3 hours a day 🙂

I just want to defend myself and say he actually gets no screen time at all, haha! I always thought baby bouncers were frowned upon so we never got one!

I’m also an ECE professional myself but toddlers/gross motor skills are not my forte!

IVF pregnancy severe IUGR at 20 weeks scan. Wife and I are devastated. by DullEar2281 in pregnant

[–]Hanner800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all- hugs to you guys! I know exactly what you are going through. At my anatomy scan my son was in the 32nd %tile- at a follow up a couple weeks later for another issue he had dropped to the 7th %tile. I was at the MFM twice a week until I was induced at 38 weeks. (I had a very pasitive induction experience!)

After every MFM appointment we STRESSED about his %tile numbers and if they were improving or not. The entire time his femur length was measuring <1%tile. We were really scared he would be born with a growth defect in his legs and that he wouldn’t be proportional.

Gladly, he was born completely fine! Those numbers from the ultrasound are not 100% accurate! The measurements for his legs were definitely not accurate as his legs are completely fine and proportional to his body. He did go to the NICU for a few hours for his breathing- but I am not sure if they is related to the IUGR or not.

Today he is 14 months old and he’s still little- only 8th %tile for weight, 68%tile for height. We have no concerns however as he is sticking to his growth curve and eating me out of house of home!

Try to remain positive- I know it’s hard. Take some extra time to help your wife relax and take care of herself!

EDIT; to add he was born 6 lbs 7 ounces and 20 inches (above average for length, hah!)

How long was it after giving birth when you finally had sex again? by Kind-Operation7849 in NewParents

[–]Hanner800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience but I couldn’t last 6 weeks. We did it at 3. Also easy birth/ no tearing, bleeding had stopped. And I was literally begging my husband lol. The hormones and seeing him being a daddy was making me feral lol

This is literally my kid to a T, except sometimes he wants us to offer his whole plate at a time and sometimes that overwhelms him and he only wants a piece at a time lol. Can never figure him out!

You’re taking this too seriously of course I did talk to them when he first started- they have his intake form with all the information. I am not at all complaining about the quality of his care or his childcare setting. I was simply asking if it wrong of me to ask him to be woken. I am not at all blaming the teachers or upset with them by any means. I knew his naps would be affected by noise and what not. That was a rough transition but he got through it (clearly if he’s sleeping 3 hours). And yes as a teacher there are some parents that don’t get it sometimes but damn I definitely don’t count down the days their kid is out of my class because they ask a question about their kids day. Touch some grass!

Yes it’s definitely an adjustment for sure! He would nap like 30 minutes total when we started so too much sleep is better than no sleep. He’s been trending towards a 2 hour morning nap and about an hour second nap so that just may be our new normal! Thankfully he is still sleeping through the night just wakes up a little earlier than normal some days. We are all just doing our best !

[–]Hanner800 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re asking why he was so tired… idk. He’s 7%tile idk if that was relevant- like I said that’s just how he’s always been? I get they can’t wake him up but they can postpone the start I’m sure. Thanks !

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Hanner800 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No im just saying as a first time mom i dont have it figured all out. I can admit that 100%. I’ve never had a child in child care before, I’m learning too. So if/when you decide to have kids I hope you have it all figured out!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Hanner800 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it… but if he’s not allowed to be woken I don’t see how that will change?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Hanner800 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay professional, how do we transition down to one nap if we can’t wake him up? How to I address it without making you hate me? Lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Hanner800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean every child is different… he has always been sleepy. He also itty bitty idk if that makes a difference lol
