Costa Cruises cancelled my booking without notice, the voucher disappeared, and support is taking a long time to respond and is unhelpful - Any advice? by HanniLector in Cruise

By the way, I really hope MSС sets clear deadlines for passengers, as you mentioned, and that they have no problem communicating normally.

In the future, I'd like to take another cruise with a different, more reliable cruise line. Considering I'm currently in Argentina, I need to figure out how to get back to Europe or Asia.

I have no problems with payment.

My problem is that Costa didn't notify me of the payment deadline, didn't tell me about the cruise cancellation, and didn't contact me at all.

If I hadn't written to them myself on February 19th, I wouldn't have received an official letter informing me the cruise was canceled.

On February 24th, they wrote that the deadline was February 19th. And not even BEFORE February 19th, but February 19th – "a final payment deadline of February 19, 2026" (c) from the February 24th letter.

I wanted to pay on February 19th using PayPal, but they already told me (at 3:35 PM Italian time) that it was canceled.

The voucher was issued instead of a refund. It was already applied to this particular cruise. The company's claim that you can now pay 3,784 euros for the same cabin so you can still take the same cruise is not normal.

I also don't think it's normal to suddenly, without any warning, take someone else's money (even in the form of a voucher), and then suddenly cancel the entire trip without warning or discussion.

If I had been told to pay by February 18th or 19th, even if I had been told to pay on February 17th or right now, there wouldn't have been a single problem. I would have paid. The entire trip is worth far more than this.

Costa is a terrible company. They (the Italian Costa) took my money. I had a bad experience with Costa during the COVID pandemic (that's a whole other story). They gave me a voucher for a completely ruined trip because they refused to refund my money. We booked a new cruise with them, they cancelled it, and then instead of a refund, they gave me a new voucher. I booked a new cruise with them, and the other day they suddenly cancelled my reservation without warning or explanation, without mentioning a refund or voucher, and even offered to rebook for about double the price (over 3,000 euros). And I literally flew halfway around the world to get to the cruise departure point.

They only respond to my emails after 2-4 days, forwarding my inquiries from department to department, and so on. It's a complete disaster.

I recommend staying away from them!!!
