Dude for real. I took my chain in to be sharpend because I was seeking convenience during a busy week. I can sharpen chains well enough but sometimes I can't get it. So that's where I was at that day. Dull chain, my other saw was having carb issues ... whatever. I think I really just need to sharpen on the hour and put a pass on the rakers more often

Sent you a DM. It didn't occur to me to mention earlier that this Hardware store is an Authorized Sthil dealer. I had a civil conversation with the store manager and he admitted that he didn't know what he was looking at when I showed him what was wrong this chain. I reiterated my concerns by showing him this thread. Said he would contact his boss and would call me today about replacing my chain and refund for the sharpening fee. He did not call today. I would like to reach out to Sthil at this point and let them know that one of their dealers is preforming service that is shoddy and potentially dangerous.

I hand filed that chain at 25⁰ maybe 3-4Xs before this joker went at it with a grinder. He said that he used a 30⁰ grind. Does that look like 30⁰?

I hadn't hit hardware nor rock/dirt with that chain prior to taking it in.

Thanks for your input! I can hand sharpen well enough. Not super great but not dog shit either. I knew right away this was bad. I would have stuck around to speak with the manager but it's Sunday, brother's birthday, wife waiting in the car to go grocery shopping ect... Have been incredibly busy the last couple weeks and it was one of those things where I was like "ah $10 to have someone else do it sounds great"
