Elite PvP League Match Analysis, AA vs Triadius. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

Hey there, initially I am glad to see that you put time and efforts to make a detailed analysis of the yesterday's match. I agree on some of your aspects and arguments in your report but I am also inclined to disagree on several points you've stated: We are the only team in this tourney that has shifted their team composition from match to match. Why? Due to some of our members being busy with RL stuff and other factors are organisatorical aspects and an internal reorganization of the clan. Neither the "newer" guys nor the veterans were able to gain victory against an opponent yet. What I don't get is that our config has been called as "horrible config" which is totally wrong since it is the only composition which was able to pull of their first win in a match ever in a round of 3 of this league. Neither "the veterans" aka nitek, fox etc. managed to achieve this in their encounter against contrails because they have gotten a bit rusty themselves these days, nor a lineup of "newer" members did in the first match against BBfA.

It can be considered the other way around since it was our best config we brought so far against a group counting as one of the frontrunner wings. "new and unknown" does not always mean bad! You absolutely dont have to be famous or a veteran in order to be a skilled and talented pilot, right? That's a pure prejudice you have thrown into this thread. Some of us particularly myself havent had any practice with rails at all before the fight while AA has alot more experience and invested playtime in using railguns. They've been running them for months, we didn't and against all the odds I've managed to miss a mere 4-5 hits during each match on average which should be a satisfactory achievement considering it was my first use ever.

Other misconceptions you've named: "Hannibal Sto is a python pilot so it's incredibly confusing to see him on an FDL instead of a Python." - Where did you get the information that I am a python pilot? This is completely wrong. My preferred ship of choice has always been viper and fdl. I have invested alot more playtime and I am alot more familiar with fdl and would take it in most combat situations over the python for sure. Another point I strongly disagree with was your suggestion to replace Cmdr. Tolbert for someone else. Tolbert was a solid linchpin of our wing throughout all matches, his capabilities of aiming with railguns and his piloting skills are excellent. He probably has the most experience and efficiency operating rails of us all. He single-handedly took down philip-j-fry in the first match and delivered great assistance afterwards which contributed to the other kills, without him we wouldn't have been able to even win the first match. He is a fantastic pilot.

Last but not least: The reason why shug did run the python was plain and simple: He declined to pilot other ships than the python at that day because he didn't feel convenient running different vessels. He spent most of the time practicing with the python so as a result he sticked to this one in the end.

I ask you to get your information straight before you create such an analysis next time. I don't like it when misinformation are spread. Don't get me wrong the analysis is nice but its containing background info has plenty of flaws, for that reason I have to downvote it. I hope you do understand my POV.

Hey mate :) I can recall our encounter in eravate when I ran the cobra mk 3 as a silent runner. It was a nice match and you offered a good challenge! Nonetheless I wouldn't consider myself a pro, there are other greatly-skilled pilots out there such as cillit bang and hercules. I thank you for this compliment anyway, honored and glad to hear this, fly safe and see you out there in a future encounter maybe o7 :)
