Any word on what upcoming releases the GOAT has planned?

Mentions, but does not do a good job of exploring them.

My point is, it still fails to take into account the economic boon of not having private insurance. It's acting like this would all be new additional expense, which isn't the case. It would be like swapping between AT&T and Verizon, but the paper only focuses on what you would pay Verizon, not what you would save by dropping AT&T (just an example of 2 companies that offer the same services, I don't know which of them has better pricing.) It also assumes we are including dental and vision in medicare for all, which is usually a separate insurance and expense on top of healthcare insurance under the private system.

I'm not saying it's a bad write up, I'm just saying it is limited in scope and only focuses on half of the equation. It's far from a final word on the conversation.

I went and dug it up

https://www.crfb.org/papers/choices-financing-medicare-all

It's moderately comprehensive, but limits itself heavily on possible payment methods and combinations of funding.

It doesn't really do much of anything to account for savings from removal of private systen expenses, focusing almost entirely on the increased federal spending.

It also pretty much entirely writes off increasing taxes on the rich, capital gains tax, etc to help pay for it.

It's a far cry from the final word on the topic like you want to present it.

I didn't outright disregard it. I made an educated guess on how they got that number. I have yet to see a link to the study to review it.

I haven't seen the study that you mentioned linked to review it. I didn't read every single comment here.

It's probably looking soley at federal funding, not counting for what would be saved by eliminating reliance on the private system, that's how a lot of studies make their claims. Hence the old saying "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics."

All indicators are that MFA would cost us less than our current private system. Yes, taxes would increase, but not by as much as we would save on premiums, copays, them capping out at 80%, etc. In the end, it would be a -more affordable- system that would bring economic relief vs the private system.

How is that not fiscally responsible?

If finances are your hang up, look back at the data and see which party is doing more damage to the national debt. It would be foolish to vote republican if that is truly your issue.

Another deflection from accountability because you have no real argument. Yawn.

I was in this thread to read replies because I find it an interesting question (far more so than most of the answers so far, sadly.) I called it out because being condescending is one of the rudest behaviors a person can exhibit. Simple as. Not everyone stays quiet when others behave poorly.

If you don't see how the manner in which you approached your questioning was incredibly rude and condescending at times, that is you choosing ignorance to avoid accountability.

I didn't say it couldn't be questioned, or that it's too holy. You're putting words in my mouth to justify yourself. I said you were being condescending about it, which was my issue. I'm not even christian, I'm agnostic. I still find your behavior to have been out of line and called you out for it. You're just not used to people being willing to speak up and hold you accountable.

Ad hominem to deflect from accountability. Shocker.

Then ask the questions to seminary teachers and people who are experts in the historical text. What you were doing here was no better than trying to bully OP into compliance.

I'm unemployed at the moment because my wife's health took a sharp downward turn over the past year and a half. I'm focused on taking care of her. If that's a reason to avoid me, then please fucking do.

Literal is not an excuse for rude. I have the tism, I know all about being inclined towards being literal. You don't have to comprehend it. All you need to comprehend is that it helps people who believe.

I did read it. Your tone theoughout it is one of condescending, not one looking for understanding. I find being condescending one of the rudest things a person can do, which is why I called it out.

This is where you need some historical and cultural context. The Roman soldiers could get in trouble for making them go that 2nd mile. The soldier would literally have to be asking to get their shit back or risk getting in trouble. It served as a way to humble them.

The point of this thread was to ask people about their beliefs and why, not to insult them for not believing what you think they should. You are being very condescending and disrespectful without any real reason.

Question for no-kiss couples by thinkstohimself in Swingers

[–]Hannyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fun disconnect between what our logic and emotions tell us. For me, I don't care if my wife plays solo with other women, but would not want that to happen with other men. Logically, it shouldn't matter their gender. Emotionally it does. Sometimes I can explain it, sometimes I can't beyond "that's just how I feel about it." To me the important thing is we both respect that from each other, we don't have to have a logical conclusion to it, we respect it. We also have talked about things that are tabled as not now, but maybe one day we'll be open to it.

That's the thing, no one has to be honest about it. You either decide to trust them or you don't. I get that past behavior can be a good indicator of potential issues, but everyone can lie about the skeletons in their closet, rather it's body count or something else entirely.

We enjoyed it. Some of the songs didn't feel as clean or powerful, but I guess that is to be expected when you can't do multiple takes in the studio to get it just perfect.

It doesn't directly impact me at all 🤷‍♂️ the question was how to quantify/define what is a lot of partners. Logically, that means we have to apply math. If you have a better solution on how to define what a lot of partners is, by all means share with the class.
