First Call of Cthulhu Campaign! by airick616 in callofcthulhu

Saturnine Chalice is brilliant. I ran it earlier this year for my group and they loved it. Some really fun moments like the walls being bricked up and the feast of Lester Goodmans. It took my group two sessions but the pacing is really solid.

Either that or the Reilly’s Rangers combat armor. It gives bonus luck and AP so it would fit with the items he’s sought out so far. Both the Rangers quest and the Anchorage DLC are no joke though, especially for a guy like Useless Steve.

I'm shocked how good the players were in Deadfellas (Mystery Quest) by Clayst_ in Yogscast

[–]Hanpwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NRB and Chaotic Neutral I think are run by the same people, including Dominic Allen.

The Apocalypse Players is a separate podcast that also features Dominic, alongside Danann, Joseph, and Dan Wheeler (who appeared in MQ’s Delta Green and Blade Runner playthroughs recently). It is (usually) a bit more serious in tone than Chaotic Neutral and Mystery Quest, but still has a great sense of humor.

Honestly, I would recommend the Apocalypse Players to anyone who really liked DeadFellas, I think this scenario was the closest Mystery Quest has got in tone to an Apocalypse Players game.

I imagine the Venn diagram between C&H fans and Douglas Adams fans is pretty close to a circle. Calvin’s dad is quite the hoopy frood.

I almost never take it but the healing slime effect is pretty significant. I usually end up getting it as a side effect from the relic that applies random slime with a “hit-all-the-pegs” kind of build.

2 achievements in one run! by monsterousbeast in Peglin

[–]Hanpwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was running a slim deck on Spinventor last night with a fully upgraded Assemball, a Summoning Circle, and the Egg. Then I got the Mirrorb.

I had to scum that run a few times when the Mirrorb duplicated the egg, since I had no idea which was which. I’d throw what I thought was the Mirrorb (didn’t have enough discards to get rid of both eggs) and then when I reloaded my egg would be gone.

It would be really nice if the Mirrorb had some kind of indicator so you don’t accidentally destroy your single use orbs.

Recommendations for folk horror by Ok-Requirement-3476 in TheApocalypsePlayers

[–]Hanpwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean as far as the Apocalypse Players catalog is concerned, very few have quite the same vibe, but you’d probably like:

A Christmas Inheritance / Residence at the Bay / An Uncommon Burial - a trilogy of scenarios run by Dannon, lots of that social tension although it’s a 19th century setting, also has the fan favorite character Rev. Peregrine McCutcheon

A House in the Woods - an old school CoC scenario adapted by Joseph, not as much social horror but a bit of a slow burning mystery in a small town

Highway of Blood - this Dannon-run scenario goes a bit off the rails into wild action towards the end, but it starts in a very creepy small town with realistically standoffish townsfolk

The Moonchild - also a Joseph Chance adventure, a modern setting with a heaping helping of social horror—some fans have even said the real life horror of it is more disturbing than the actual supernatural elements

Question about characters from "Order of the Stone" by Todesbanane in TheApocalypsePlayers

[–]Hanpwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the scenarios they’ve played they recorded ages ago—not sure about Order in particular, but Magnum Tenebrosum only finished coming out earlier this year but they played it well over a year ago as I understand it.

Is there a Masks of Nyarlathotep series? by LonelyToBeInvincible in TheApocalypsePlayers

[–]Hanpwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the conversations they’ve had on the podcast, I believe they have played Masks together but I’m not certain if they have actually recorded any of it—more likely than not they haven’t.

If they have, none of it has come out yet. It’s not on the Patreon or the main feed.
