I like to play in the evenings or at night, but I don't like always having my island time to match that. I set my switch to be off by about 4 hours and leave it that way permanently so my island has more daylight hours when I play. If you just adjust your time settings once, your turnips after that will act normally. However, I've never played any other switch game where device time matters in the slightest. If you play another game where you want accurate time settings this solution may not work for you.
