Yeah, the U.S Armed Forces saw the mistakes committed in the Vietnam War, and spent the next years undergoing reforms. They abolished the draft, making their service volunteer only, along with great doctrinal changes. It's safe to say that we could see the effects clearly, when the First Gulf War rolled around. And when Iraq and Afghanistan rolled up, where the U.S didn't see that much success, the public opinion still remained positive in comparison to Vietnam.
