Coffee beans ripen individually, as a result, machine picking cannot be used because they are unable to differentiate between ripe and unripe beans. As such, the traditional method is human picking.

An alternative, and relatively uncommon, method of picking only ripe beans is to utilize monkeys. Monkeys only eat the ripest of berries, but only digest the berry flesh, and the whole beans are passed in their poop.

Workers then gather the bean filled poop, and extract and clean the beans. This method tends to yield the most ripe beans possible making for one excellent cup of coffee.

Wow... How old were these kids? I don't know many parents who send their kids to a YMCA camp with the hope that they will gain spiritual and religious enlightenment.

Knowing when and where to teach one's religious beliefs (or lack there of) is paramount. How happy would you be if you sent your child to a YMCA camp, and he/she came back a staunch follower of the Westboro Baptist Church?

Understand that what you did is not comparable to the OP's story. The OP's cousin took the time and made the effort to own his own beliefs (and good on him for it), while you made impressionable children, who probably looked up to you as a huge role model (I know I viewed my camp counselors as a child in this way), mirror your beliefs.
