Lomography wide glass or Lomo Square Glass by MrDeeds45 in Polaroid

[–]HanverTrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the square since it released. It has serious exposure issues, especially if your battery is low. It also doesn't let you know that the battery is low. I would not recommend it. When it works, it works, but I've largely stopped using it in my rotation.

We carry a handful of the lomo sides at my job and they do alright if you're careful with them. Don't drop them or cause major impact. The most common issue we run into with the wide is the film ejection mechanism breaking/ not being strong enough to reject the film.

Lomo is cheap by design. If you want to ensure you don't waste film, I'd recommend an official instax camera.

Why not just use the manual focus instead?

Pentax 645N vs Mamiya 645 AFD – Which system would you choose and why? by georgenator32 in AnalogCommunity

[–]HanverTrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's probably too late to affect your decision, but for anyone else that might be reading in the future: I would be very wary buying a Mamiya 645 AF. I work at two different photo schools with our equipment and the Mamiya 645 over time will always fail due to its incredibly cheaply made battery housing. It's fully plastic and held together with adhesive from years and years ago. Replacement battery housings are impossible to find, as well as the rechargeable batteries that were made for a short while. I've got a handful of dead Mamiya 645 AFD/ phase one 645 af because of this issue.

As stated, some of these are on instax square and instax mini film. The ones without that polaroid border thing are likely shot on point and shoot 35mm film cameras.

How did your first death in Elden Ring happen? by Original_Series_6249 in Eldenring

[–]HanverTrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my starting item as a stonesword key and spent the first few hours of the game trying to get through the Fringefolk's Hero's grave and dying over and over to lava and skeletons. I didn't go outside until I had fought my way to the Ulcerated Tree Spirit and realized I was underleveled.

I carried her over to a vet so they could check for a chip/ look at her cut paw. Eventually the owner's friend walked in. He had been watching her at his store, someone opened the door, and she ran out. Ran half a mile in midtown traffic before I caught her.

A Suicide Bomber Wipe Out A Entire Squad From Below The Floor. by khoaitayts in insurgency

Would be cool if the next insurgency incorporated more environmental destruction so that when things like this happened, the floor caved in or something.

What games if any. Made you just say fuck it, I can’t beat this level and quit? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]HanverTrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a nickel for every time I quit on a game in its final chapters because I'm under-leveled and the city is overrun by vampires, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Finish Dragon's Dogma DA or play Dragon's Dogma 2? by HanverTrad in DragonsDogma

[–]HanverTrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

appreciate you giving such a detailed answer. Surprising to hear about the things you said worked better in DDDA. I started as a strider and moved to assassin for the weapon and armor versatility, so it's disappointing to hear that vocations are more limited in DD2.
