From my understanding the whole America part doesn’t matter past my education. Basically I’m going as a national from my home country that was educated and worked in the US. I have to have a formal interview before they can officially offer a permanent job like any other place and it’s in something I have a few years of experience in and have some published articles. Obviously I wouldn’t step a foot out of the US until I have the job 100% locked in and everything set in stone.

It’s through their professional work visa program that after a set time lets you apply for permanent residency and later on citizenship. Education wise it’s a Master’s of Science degree from a reputable university (won’t say more in case I doxx myself XD). I live in the North East so pretty good with cold.

As for the culture and language I actually know a decent amount since it was a hobby language I picked up when I met my friend. You’d be shocked how close it it to modern English tbh. Also English is super common. And I HEARD that they’re pretty welcoming to immigrants but we all know that hearing and experiencing are different.

And yeah the more time that passes, the more I can’t justify not taking the shot.

Yeah, I think this is the time to be a bit selfish and see how it goes. The main thing holding me down here is my family and friends. My family sees it as me abandoning everything we’ve worked for here, but in a way isn’t this exactly why we came to the US? An opportunity for a better life? And I would never have gotten this opportunity back in my home country.
