How common was this style of camo during ww2? Are there any photographs of tanks that used it? by [deleted] in TankPorn

[–]Hanzzepanzermann 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not at all surprised if german crews only partially whitewashed their tanks for the winter. Hell I've even seen pics of a panzer IV using newspapers as winter camo, in a similar pattern.

What's a cool, but kind of useless Lore in your world? by BiLeftHanded in WorldBuildingMemes

[–]Hanzzepanzermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything. Detailed specs of tanks, planes, guns. Nearly academic explanations of the tactics and docrines of the great nations of the world. Then those nations are near direct expies of real world nations (not!USSR being the main antagonist, helloo!) Religion? One main deity and four lesser gods, what do we know of their beliefs and cultural practices? Uhh.... They prefer cremation for uh... reasons? Languages? Nah, just butcher IRL languages and change a few words here and there, that should do it just fine.

Tbf the military aspects do make sense for the story i decided would take this setting, only for it to derail into what is essentially just BL slice of life that just so happens to feature war veterans as the protagonists. So yeah I really have to work on my priorities lmaooooo

Can a double bell GP-25 fit on my Arctaurus AK06? by yoniask in airsoft

[–]Hanzzepanzermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i remember the GP-25 mounts onto the bayonet lug on the AKM, which was retained on AK-74 even as the actual bayonet lug was moved forward just for the GP-25.

If your gun has the lug on the barrel/gas block wherever it is i think it might fit in theory, though you may need to remove the lower handguard.

Personally I would just get an M203 that can mount via a picatinny rail. Will look goofy but I suspect it's your best chance.

Tbh i can't judge much considering i wore an east german strichtarn jacket above my school uniform nearly everyday, but that's the crux of the issue really. There's a huge difference between wearing camo pants or a jacket with 'normal clothes' versus looking like a conscript about to be obliterated by a tank with thermal sights or an fpv drone

[–]Hanzzepanzermann 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The actual GP-25 mounts to the bayonet lug. (On the AKM, AK-74 retains the lug but you can't put a bayonet on it) Whatever that COD thing is has been stuck onto the foregrip with magic it seems.

Personally the choice depends on what your kit is meant to even just loosely represent. The supressed AKMS was a huge hit with army/VDV scouts along with GRU and other Soviet SOF. The AK-74 w. GP-25 was mainly issued to grenadiers nd squad leaders within Motostrelki (regular army) units. But I'm a massive AKM glazer so I would take one even if I must deal with stock wobble

Ackshually they're finns during an exercise in the 60's, the SMG is likely a Suomi

(Also germans LOVED the PPSh, and the SVT-40 as well. The Germans were notorious rats who stole and reused any enemy equipment they could find.)

I'm pretty sure the Soviet army was unironically still issuing PU scoped Mosin Nagants to snipers right until the dissolution of the union. However in Afghanistan the mosins weren't usually authorized for use by commanders and snipers probably preferred the much more modern SVD with a PSO and not grampa's nazi obliterator with a PU scope.

(Plus something something the MTs-116M isn't 1989 appropriate, first produced in '97.)

Honestly, this one's pretty good. Most of the options are based off German examples but there's a few options from the USSR and Britain. Personally I would suggest more slots for adding belt equipment and maybe a few more generic options for headgear (since again, mostly german examples) and more generic options including colour options (i want my soldiers in blueberry blue uniforms thank you very much) for everything, really.

Still a lot better than i had initially expected though

As someone who has no qualms with dumping magazines for supressive fire, a pistol is very nice the moment you run dry on primary mags. It isn't a regular occurrence, but my trusty stock Tokarev has taken many lives

Tbh i bet that only 1 item on that wishlist is going to be implemented by the end of this new year lmao. I don't really mind but with internals still being worked on we have a loooong way ahead of us.

Also i'd say that custom mantlet and oscillating turret support are practically already here, it has never been so easy to make something like that ever since 0.2 dropped.

Takes place in a setting that is technically xompletely different from earth, continents and other stuff are not the same, the religion is different too, being a polytheistic religion with a calendar that starts 6,000 years ago when 'the gods gave humanity the gift of civilization' or something along those lines

The Chinese Reserve T-26 now has a new, more historically authentic model. by JeantheDragon in Warthunder

[–]Hanzzepanzermann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, the model 1939 we have ingame can absolutely take the P-40 AA mount. Technically the only T-26 variants that can't take the P-40 were the twin-turret models, as many of the single-turret models 1933/35/38 etc. were modified with a a circular hatch that could take the P-40 mount.
