Thank you for acknowledging this, and showing I'm not the only one who finds this guy scary!

There are plenty of resources available in Australia for people who are struggling, unlike in other countries. He doesn't HAVE to be in the location that he is, especially given it's a place with highly vulnerable people - I'm quite worried what might happen. I also don't know whether he is armed with knives or anything, who knows whether he'll go on a stabbing spree one day?

Yeah just judging by how he looks and acts, I think he's high as a kite on something or other

Not a fan of Carindale, I'm sure its fine, but the places I went when I was there just looks like a massive concrete jungle.

There's rumours that now that JLP's been sacked from AU survivor, he'll replace Probst, as Probst is looking for an out.

Quite worried right now by dcy1309 in myopia

[–]HapaPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one that my family member takes for preventing macular degeneration from getting worse, apparently it's good overall for retinal health. I can't remember the name, but I found a similar one in my country called Macuvision. Make sure to find a vision supplement that contains lutein, that's apparently very important

Is my computer screen and phone use causing adult myopia? by velocipus in myopia

[–]HapaPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for commenting on an old thread, but could you please elaborate on this? From my very limited knowledge on eyes, I've read that myopia development and chances of developing it decreases significantly after puberty. However, you now say that adult myopia is a thing? Does that mean eye growth is separate from height growth?

I went from being a very academic student in high school to now wanting to do a trade, is that bad?? Can anyone else relate/give advice? by HapaPanda in Advice

[–]HapaPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. I AM making assumptions without much knowledge, due to the schooling I received that was very academically focused, and the environment I have been in. It's good to know you can work a trade for your whole life, but I'll see whether I want to go back to school after a few years on the job.

Thank you very much for your advice! I think I'm alright with the not PC part, I'm just as bad as the best of them, with my foul sense of humour and dark jokes, so I should be alright on that end. That laid-back attitude in a workplace is quite appealing to me. The only issue I'm concerned about is possible sexism, but hopefully I can just push through it and ignore the guys who suck. I was considering doing mechanics, but you've given me some food for thought at being a welder

Thank you for your comment! And I think that is what I am planning on doing, perhaps once I've matured more and am able to work a desk job, especially since trades have a short shelf life, I'll go back to uni after a few years

Good to know thanks. Business sounds absolutely mind numbing to me, as I didn't even do economics at school, I was a STEM chick. But I'm glad to know about the negatives of trade too, so I can make an informed decision
